I really don't like the garter toss, but what I dislike even more is the idea of playing "Another one bites the dust" during this... as if it's this awful thing that your husband is now married. I really hate that.

Ty to everyone that offered suggestions. To answer the question as to why we're doing this so soon. We're doing most of the wedding ourselves, so I'm working on playlists now. I work 2 jobs and will have no day off again til after christmas. So I'm doing little by little right now with what can be done now. I don't want to wait and have my hands full of stuff to be done at the last minute.

If you drop the garter toss, it's one less song to add to the play list!!! We aren't doing one..I find it uncomfortable as a bride and as a guest... but that's just me..

My honey refuses to do one. Says he has no intentions of throwing my undergarments to anyone because it feels like he is dishonoring me. I like that he kinda raised the bar for me on that one! But tradition looms on. I wonder if there's a different way to achieve the same kind of goal.

Personally, I'm not offended by something as funny or silly as a garter toss. I've been to a wedding where the bride placed the garter lower on her leg while her groom reached for it. I'm assuming this was to tame any "ew" factor. So that's an idea..... My vote for the song would be Pony - Ginuwine. Lol.

It's a fun tradition. I'm doing it at my wedding. Just not putting it up on the thigh.

Pony is a tasteless and inappropriate song in my opinion, especially to play during a tradition that I consider tacky and outdated.
