help with place card holders CHEAP

ruth, on April 5, 2009 at 1:22 AM Posted in Planning 0 14

Can anyone help me with ideas for CHEAP place card holders or how to make some on my own. I have run out of money and need to cut on this expense.

Here is a link (you may have to copy and paste it) that has great cheap ideas. If it does work let me know and I will just type them all out for you, because I understand where you're coming from.

I'm not sure what your theme is... but I have heard of people using things like: a piece of fruit with a paper flag stuck in it, polished stones that they wrote on with a paint pen (from a craft store), or folded pieces of cardstock. I've seen a lot of fancy place card holders that I love, but @ $5/each... its just not in the budget.

    Good luck and congrats!!

Don't forget the ever-famous wine cork place holder! A bag of corks can be bought for just a few dollars, if you don't think you will be able to imbibe the number of bottles needed to fill every seat position before your big day! Just slit the cork, and stand computer printed or hand printed cards. Simple card stock cut by hand can add a charming, hand-crafted look.

I have gotten most of my stuff from oriental trading company. They are great and have fab prices. thank you all so much for all your help. so i'm so stress out about this whole place card thing that i had a dream lastnight that gave me an idea. I purchased little flower girl and ring bearers rubber ducks for everyone that's coming to the wedding. What if i tie a ribbon around them with each persons name attached to it.

My future sister in law took ribbon in her colors and hung the place cards from a tree/bush and it only cost here like 15 bucks and it looked really cute!

Have you already bought your place cards? If you wanted to cut our place card holders completely you could simply buy the place cards that fold. If you are worried that it will look too plain there are a lot of pretty looking place cards you can print yourself at Michaels and other office/craft supply stores. Good luck!
