Help with petticoat/hoop skirt?!

Lisa, on March 28, 2014 at 7:38 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 3

So I bought my dress on ebay, and whilst it fits perfectly and I love the top, I'm still having a bit of trouble making it feel like "the one". My main issues with it is that it has a drop waist, and that the skirt isn't very flowy. In the pictures below I'm wearing a train hoop skirt (style 10), but it just seems to emphasise both of those. So now I'm thinking maybe I'll try a skirt without a hoop (style 7 or 12) but I need help deciding which one! Style 7 would be easier to move in, and is probably a safer bet, but style 12 might give me the ball gown look I was hoping for. Any advice you have would be appreciated! My dress is getting me a bit down at the moment...

I'm thinking I might go with the 8 layer hoopless petticoat, and then a big ribbon or belt so the waist looks more like what I was hoping for, thoughts?

That not really a noticeable drop waist so I would not do a belt or ribbon because I think it would make it more noticeable. About the petticoat I would do style 7 since you are so tiny I think style 12 would swallow you the one you are wearing already adds a bit to much to me.

I agree with MrsCountryLace - I don't find the current peticoat all that noticeable, but IF you were to change it, I would go for style 7. You want movement while you are wearing it, and especially while you are shakin' your newly married booty on the dance floor with your husband.

Though I am not a seamstress, or dressmaker, I do sew & think style 7 is best for your frame & dress- Looking beautiful Lisa!
