Help with Opposite of Grand Entrance

Sara, on July 17, 2022 at 6:06 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 4
I don’t want a really “grand entrance”. It just isn’t us. I see us (just the bride and groom) being introduced and walking right out to dance floor to go into our first dance. My question is, I feel like there should be some sort of music while we are being introduced/walking out but it really won’t be played long as we go right onto the dance floor. Suggestions?

You could see if there is any instrumentals that your DJ is able to play. This way you don’t have to worry about a song being cut off mid sentence. Or if you do plan to have a song, the DJ can fade it out and talk over it. So it doesn’t seem weird.

We did an instrumental version of our song (the way you make me feel - Michael Jackson) for our introduction then went straight into our cake cutting.

We did this. Our bridal party arrived half way through our cocktail hour, without a formal entrance (we were taking couples photos). An announcement was made that we about to arrive, and “I Believe in a Thing Called Love” by The Darkness started to play (we had instrumental music during cocktail hour). We walked into the chorus to applause, and, it started to fade out, as we stopped by the head table/our seats for a quick kiss (our table was on our way to the dance floor). Our MC (one of my husband’s groomsmen) then announced our first dance (We danced to “Everything” by Micheal Buble).

You can have fun with this! We did this and since our last name is Rock, we had the DJ play the refrain of "Rock Steady" as we entered and strolled to the dance floor. Looking at the video, folks realized the humor in it and enjoyed it.
