Help with my Sept wedding dilemma! 50 person limit

Jessie, on July 18, 2020 at 10:11 AM Posted in Planning 0 8
We were originally supposed to marry in June, but had to postpone to September 25th.
As of right now, the venue has limitations including no dancefloor (I'm very upset about this) and only 50 people are allowed. I don't know if this will change by our wedding date. So I'm not sure if I send out those 50 invites now and wait to send out the other invites. Or should we send them all out now, and potentially have to reverse the invites?
What would you do?

I wouldn’t invite more than the 50. IMO, It’s better to not invite people right away and invite them late than it is to invite them and then say never mind you don’t make the top 50 people to us.

We have the same restrictions for our 9/12 wedding. We invited up to the 50 person limit and individually reached out to those we could no longer invite to let them know we really wish we could have them but we have to prioritize immediate family. We were already planning a small wedding, so luckily we didn’t have to cut too many. I wouldn’t count on restrictions easing up even if your state is looking good considering how many states are getting to be in real trouble. Good luck!

Thank you for your input! We live in Western New York, and our area is doing pretty good. But who knows what late September will be like! We asked the venue their thoughts, and they said they think these regulations will run through August, but they don't know about September.
I think I'm going to reach out to the people we dont invite right away and tell them we're inviting close family first, and if the limit goes up, we will invite them too. I just know there will be some family drama though concerning more distant family.
Good luck to you as well😊

Thank you for your input! Great point, I guess I would rather be invited late if I were the guest.

I’m so grateful no one we had to cut caused drama- tell them planning during a pandemic is stressful enough you don’t need it!

I would keep it to 50 and then be pleasantly surprised if it changes later.
