HELP with Engagement Photo Location (Columbus)

Katie, on March 30, 2016 at 10:19 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 4

I am struggling with finding places to get our engagement photos taken that aren't outside in a park or "country" looking area around Pickerington/Columbus. My fiance and I aren't outdoors country people and our wedding is a black tie event so if we wanted to display our engagement photos I want something that will go with the "theme".

What about something on OSU campus? The faculty club (on the oval) is gorgeous from the outside. I know you said no parks but what about taking photos outside that building on the weekend? The Wexner Center (also on the oval) is really pretty, too. they'd probably let you do inside and outside photos if you call them.

Other than that try looking in the downtown district (take high street all the way downtown). There are some nice buildings there. Museums or libraries would be good places.

http://muschlitzphoto.com/portrait-locations/ listed the following for a "city" feel: Bicentennial Park & the Scioto Mile; Arena District & Short North.

Something more urban at http://www.dgnphoto.net/blog/2010/08/ideas-of-places-for-engagement-pictures-in-columbus-ohio/: North Bank Park (with an overlook of the city of Columbus) or outside of COSI (another view of the city); Columbus Union Station Arch; the suburbs have their own little downtowns (Westerville, Worthington, Dublin, Pickerington, etc) that are quaint and have good spots for engagement pictures; German Village (brick streets and interesting architecture), Olde Towne East (more interesting architecture), Italian Village; Ohio State’s campus (Mirror Lake, the Browning Amphitheater, the new Ohio Union; Ohio Stadium)
