Help with bridesmaid dress color!

Rae, on June 15, 2021 at 4:53 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 8
Hi Friends!

I’m really struggling to pick a color for my bridesmaid dresses and would love some input! We are getting married in the mountains this fall with a rustic, boho look.

My fiancé is an identical twin. I’m putting him in a forest green suit and the groomsmen in navy so people can easily tell them apart after a few cocktails 😆
I want to do these velvet infinity dresses for the bridesmaids but I’m stuck on the color. I have 2 redheads, 2 blondes, and 2 brunettes in the bridal party... so definitely a challenge to pick a flattering color. I’ve thought about doing mismatched jewel tones, putting them all in forest green to match the groom, all the same color, and everything in between!
Opinions appreciated! The dresses:https://etsy.me/36crObyhttps://etsy.me/34vrSop

I absolutely love the mismatched jewel tone look! I think it looks so beautiful and everyone can wear a color that compliments them the best. We are doing mismatched fall colors for our wedding Smiley smile

Hair color doesn’t make a difference so much as skin tone: pale pink or peach vs olive vs dark. If someone is cool toned, they look better in silver and cool colors where someone with warm skin looks best in gold and warm colors.

These are my thoughts as well. Skin tone is a far bigger consideration than hair color when choosing a bridesmaids dress.

Only thing to add, as a redhead I avoid wearing certain yellows and oranges (so I don't look like one clashing orange blob in photos). If you are looking at green or jewel tones then you are safe from that concern.

I like the green idea. You could do them in different shades of green also, I think the sage green, dark green and olive would go well together! Plus the differences in the shades will help accommodate the differences in hair colors but still look cohesive! Whatever you decide to do will still be beautiful! ❤️

Thanks so much for the feedback, ladies! Along with the different hair colors, they all have different skin tones, too! Kaitlyn, I would love to see the dresses you’ve picked!

I don't have a great picture of all the dresses together as some bridesmaids live out of town, so this is the best I have right now!Help with bridesmaid dress color! 2
I, personally, love the contrast between the dark and light colors and they each compliment the ladies so well 😊 it was important to me that they all felt as comfortable and confident as possible! Here's a better look at all the colors together. The groomsmen and groom are wearing grey plaid suits with charcoal ties (ivory for the groom)
