Help with bridesmaid colors please

Sarah, on October 13, 2020 at 12:07 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 15
Ok lets start with I'm not girly and all this color coordinating stuff really irks me. I need help deciding what color I should have bridesmaids wear.

This is the ceremony part of my venue.

The reception area, and yes I do plan on doing the white and black like the picture except for the flowers I'm not a huge fan of the white on white. All other decor will be black and white, signage etc. I find it has a simple elegance that I like.

I'm thinking something like this for flowers. And my fh wants the men to be wearing grey. I wanted to put the girls in black but he says that it'll make him think of a funeral so that idea is out. I also floated the idea of putting them in white I saw a lot of pics of bridal party in whites or off whites recently and really liked it but he vetoed that idea too. So I am at a loss and could really use some color ideas for their dresses.

After some research most photographers don't like it when subjects wear fuschia/red/orange/yellow because they're really HARD to photograph. I would go for the lightest pink possible(usually goes well with most skin tones) OR go with a deep hunter green. They'll pop against the flowers and tuxes and it's not a super girly color

I think light pinks would be nice also!

To be honest this is a very personal decision but I would factor in what colour the groomsmen will be in and your florals.

If it helps, my colour scheme is shades of burgundy with pops of blush (see my photo icon). Our wedding is black tie so the groomsmen will be in crisp black tuxedos with black bow ties and the bridesmaids will be in black gowns.

Dusky blue might be good, match with the grey suits and not too girly

Gorgeous venue! I would think a blush pink would be beautiful for your bridesmaids.

Yeah you do not have to match the dresses to the venue. Since I am doing a fall ceremony and I saw burgundy and peach and loved it I chose those colors. Which colors do you like? Or if you want to burden off you for one wedding the bride (just like you -- not a girly girl yet sadly me and her MOH were lol) she let us choose our dresses even the color. She did not care. We went to David's Bridal and said choose a dress you feel comfortable and it does not need to match but we wanted to. We chose our dress with her approval and the color there. You could do the same. We word gold which could compliment your venue.

Thanks I hadn't considered green. I tried light pink but it really doesn't work on two of them.

I was considering doing both like blush and burgundy. Two of my girls skin tones don't really work with the blush or light pinks in general so they were going to go in the darker color.

I'm pretty laid back on the subject I've told the girls I'm not set on a color and they could decide it. But they pretty much just want me to tell them what to wear, which I mean is awesome because I've seen people on here with difficult bridesmaids, but I find this to be the most difficult thing I've had to pick lol 😭😭. I've considered doing like a burgundy and blush.

So I told my friend the colors I liked then asked her which color she preferred to wear between the two and she said burgundy. Here's her dress if it give inspiration but she got it in wine I guess it's called. I am getting her a bouquet w peach and white in the colors. I let her choose the style but she asked my opinion. I say coordinate a dress shopping day but I say choose the colors you like and have them decide on the dress they like. Help with bridesmaid colors please 4

I think dark green or navy work well as neutrals and would be fine with any flowers, and with the grey groomsman.

I like the idea of the champagne color the only thing will depend how dark of a grey your grooms men are wearing if its light i do not think it will compliment but with dark grey and champagne it will be very elegant. the flowers will really be your pop of color.

Thats also a good idea. We are going for them to try dresses on Nov 7th so I'll probably decide then. But I'm leaning towards the burgundy and blush.
