Have you tried on both dresses? If not, I would suggest trying both on and taking photos of you in them to compare to eachother. Both dresses are beautiful and would be perfect for a Summer wedding, so there really is no "wrong" choice here! Personally, I prefer the second dress; but I also tend to lean towards more fashion forward and unique pieces. Having a "timeless" look wasn't important to me. I know some people try to find dresses that they won't look back on pictures and think it is super dated. If that's something that is important to you, I would probably go with the first dress. The big ruffle is having such a moment right now, but I'm sure it's a trend that will go out of vogue quickly.

I'm also very slim/petite frame & just under 5'2". I tried a dress with more material at the bottom & it didn't look balanced on me. Short girl problems! I love both but for a shorter, more petite person, I'd vote the 1st one because you'll loose material in the front due to alterations, but the back will be very long & flow beautifully. Great choices!
