Help - Sash or no sash?

Alright ladies, I need your suggestions on whether or not I should add a sash to my dress. I think the dress looks elegant without one, but I'm a little afraid that it might be too plain without one! I was thinking maybe of not wearing one for the ceremony, then putting it on for the reception with a matching hair flower.

The sash in the picture is not the one I would get (it is $475 at the bridal shop! NO WAY!) so if I decide to wear one I think I will get the one in the third picture (from etsy), except not the champagne color shown.

So, should I wear a sash? And if I do, what color? I was thinking of a light ivory sash to match the dress, not champagne because I don't think I want to introduce another color. Do you think an ivory sash wil still have the illusion of cinching in my waist like the champagne one does?

THANKS!!

I love the sash! I think sashes add more and are pretty.

I'm going to go against the majority and say no sash. Usually I am a sash and bling fan, however in this case the dress is perfect on its own and I think the sash makes your torso look shorter. Beautiful dress though!

(I think jewellery will fix your plain issue)

Thanks Rebecca! I actually think i look longer also. I called my mom and she thinks plain is better. Maybe with necklace/bracelet it will be dressed up more? I think it's definitely two different looks which why i was thinking no sash for ceremony and add the sash for reception...

I've said this before, but you will be holding flowers walking down the aisle anyway. so maybe that helps your feeling of it being too plain? I still like the no sash for the ceremony and sash for the reception. maybe you can look around when you are BM dress shopping this weekend

Sash. It really accentuates the waist.

Sash for sure. Maybe you can incorporate a color from the wedding? The champagne color is gorgeous too!! My MOH/BFF is making mine for me! She has a store on Etsy http://www.etsy.com/shop/OpulentBridalCouture?ref=shop_sugg

Definitely do the sash. I did and loved it. I also had a flower clip in my hair that I loved too.

I say definite YES on the sash. I think an ivory sash would do the same thing for you; and I would put have a little bling on there too. :-)

I'm always looking for pictures of the Marissa 737 dress (mine) and whether it is worn with a sash or not. It was actually on "Say YES to the dress" with a sash (I didn't see the episode, just a blurry picture online) and it was ivory (looked like organza) with a couple of fluffy ivory flowers.
