Help! Reception area... not liking walls

Pang, on June 26, 2019 at 12:14 PM Posted in Style and Décor 1 7

I book this venue solely base on the ceremony site. It has two acres of gardens and it was within budget.

This is the reception room. I do not like the colors in this room (light gray and ivory). Don't mind the tree colors because that can be changed. Mostly likely, I'll keep the lights white. Honestly, I don't like them either. Anyways, I'm not allow to hang anything off the trees or walls. So I guess draping is out.

How do I turn this into a soft romantic room? I want to keep decor on a budget.

For the tables, I wanted to use a blush/dusty rose chiffon runner, sliver dollar eucalyptus, candles, and smaller flower arrangements.

Here are some examples from Pinterest.

Bulk candles from Dollar Tree are always a good bet. I'm sure once the lights are dimmed, your reception will be everything you imagined.

They won't let you hang more string lights or anything like that on the walls? I was going to say Garland is cheap

Light gray and ivory are the perfect "blank canvas" colors. They will ensure a warm backdrop to whatever color scheme you have in mind. Blush, dusty rose, and eucalyptus will all look lovely against that backdrop. It might be hard to imagine with those bluish lights on the trees, but if you can make those neutral (like white), then the rest will go easily. It's a lovely room!

Pipe and Drape don't hang from the walls, they are free standing - so that could still be an option. But honestly I think you lucked out - those are some of the most neutral colors possible for a venue!

I really think it's the blue in the trees that throws it off. It's a very neutral room and that is great. I'm sure you'll make it beautiful!
