Help!! Pregnant and getting married!!

Darian, on July 31, 2019 at 5:23 PM Posted in Family and Relationships 0 10
We recently found out we’re expecting but our wedding is November 2020. Idk if it’s too much to handle with a newborn and a wedding. We’ve pretty much booked the major stuff so I’m not sure if it’s too much to have a baby shower and a wedding or if I should just scratch the baby shower. Lmk your thoughts!!

I think it depends on your family. My family would be way TOO excited if I was in your situation; they would love to do a wedding and baby shower lol. It will be a lot of stress to plan for a baby and wedding. Plus money would be a factor. You need to talk with your FH and your closest family members about all possibilities. It's doable but I agree that it would be a lot.

My family would be excited maybe not so much my parents but everyone else would be. Financially we can do it and we’re ok with or without a baby shower because normally people are supposed to throw one for you so if not we’re okay with it. Our main goal is making sure baby has what the need our wedding is taken cared of which for the most part it is since I started planning early and we’ve had financial help with it from relatives. It won’t be easy but we’ve got a good support system I feel and this would be our second child, the oldest is 4.

Why not do a combined Bridal/Baby Shower?
“First comes love then the carriage and next our marriage” take off if the “fist comes love then comes marriage then the baby carriage”
could be cute.. Maybe a bride pushing a lil stroller lol, for a cake topper?

Congratulations! I agree that it’s a lot, but you have a lot of time still and it sounds like you already made a lot of the big decisions. I’d just focus on getting as much planned as possible before baby comes so you two can focus on baby without stressing about wedding details for a couple months. I like the idea of a combined shower, but I don’t see why you couldn’t have both if someone offered. My baby shower was at like 6 and a half months? so that would be WELL before your wedding and typical wedding shower timeline.

So many exciting things happening for you two next year! How did your oldest take the news? My kids are requesting a baby (they are 4&5) and we keep telling them no! Lol

You’re so right!! I guess I was just over thinking everything lol. That’s my plan to take care of as much of the wedding details before the baby comes. Our son is excited! He’s been asking and I know being an only child gets lonely and I didn’t want a huge gap between him and the next child. Of course he requested for TWO and I was like sorry buddy that’s not happening lol but he wants a brother or a sister so at least I know he’ll be happy with whatever gender the baby is😊

I think it's all doable if you don't go big or wild, which if you're pregnant you probably don't want anything wild anyway. I agree it depends a lot on the family and your friends, mine would be more excited about the baby than the wedding 😆🤦

I agree I think it’ll be doable and this time around I don’t plan to go crazy since I did with my first. I think we’ll have a lot of family support and I just needed to be reassured so I appreciate you and the other ladies commenting 😊

My mother in law would be over the moon with having a wedding and a baby all in one year. She would do everything because she is very family oriented. I think you would be able to handle it but with careful planning!

My mother in law would be too so I agree I think I can do it if I continue to plan carefully with everything
