I need ideas/advice/opinions.
Colorado venue prices are INSANE. Colorado has become a destination wedding hot spot and the prices people are willing to pay are crazy. I mean I looked at one venue, and the Friday/Saturday rental came with a nice $35,000 F&B minimum!?! Whattttt??
That being said even ones marked "affordable" start at $5000+ just for the event space. That doesn't include all the important things like photography and food and other extras. Before I know it I'm at almost $15,000.
And normally I'm not this tight with my wallet but the idea of paying that much for one day, seems... crazy.
Now don't get me wrong, I've always wanted a wedding. I've been Pinterest "planning" for basically our 8 year long relationship. But now that I'm actually doing it, WOAH.
So anyways, I need help and ideas. I've recently started looking at Airbnb's and I think it has potential but because it's not overly done and at someone else's home there's not a lot of direction or ideas.
Here are a few things we know for sure:
- November 13 2020
-35-40 guests (including us)
-Mountain or industrial setting
-Must be in CO
My biggest concern isn't so much holding the ceremony at one because if we do find a mountain location then we aren't short on views or space.
But what I do with all these people after for a reception. Do I provide small plate, tapas style food at the lodge or go for a restaurant afterwards? Also how do I make something that seems casual more formal. I still want the wedding feel just without the wedding price tag. And would it be weird to have 5 GM & 5 BM considering our guest list is small? I sort of already asked them and sincerely do want them a part of this.
Sorry for the long post but I need the help. Thanks in advance.
