Help!..... period on wedding day

Asheley, on March 7, 2023 at 10:00 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 10

Hello Ladies,

Well, I just looked at my period planner and the bad news is that I will be on my period the week of my wedding. Smiley ups

On my second day of my period, I am heavy. So I am worried about is how to deal with that the day of my wedding. I would have me MOH help but she is pregnant right now so I don't want her doing too much. I would have my mom help me with any tampon changes but she is physically disabled. Any suggestions on how to change my tampon or flex cup while in a MERMAID wedding dress with no help?

If you’re open to using medication, there are actually pills that are made to stop your period for a few days for events like this

It’s basically birth-control that you take multiple times a day. It will prevent you from having your period for as long as you continue taking them. A lot of women use them for their wedding days or honeymoons. Check out wisp.com if you’re interested. They will have you fill out a questionnaire that will be reviewed by a doctor, then they will mail the pills to your home.

Also worth noting, these pills are very low dose and do NOT prevent pregnancy- so make sure you continue your choice method of birth control.

If the medication route doesn’t pan out, I highly recommend period underwear! I use Thinx and they’re awesome. There’s a bunch of other brands now too

Totally agree with this. I have endometriosis, so I have extremely extremely heavy periods. I think I’ve tried all brands of period panties at this point lol. The ones I’ve found that work the best are ModiBody

I have used Wisp. You can get it online after filling out a form that a doctor reviews. It can delay your period up to two weeks. It worked absolutely great for me and I plan to use it if there is even a chance that I will have my period for my wedding/honeymoon.

Have you considered back up options? Perhaps a change of clothes for later in the evening for a more relaxed (non corset binding) outfit in case of bloating or heaven forbid an accident? Maybe period pants that seem to be all the hype? Make sure you have a care package for yourself JUST in case, whatever you typically use to get you by during your cycle? I hope for the best for you...
