We aren’t having, I mean, technically. Our dogs are in our wedding and our basset is our “flower girl” our German Shepherd is our “ring bearer”. We have more greenery and less flowers at our wedding so I’m not worried about petals. We also don’t have a girl young enough. My younger cousin is my bridesmaid.

Its really just up to you. Sometimes people on this site are very big on tradition and etiquette some are doing their own thing. You’ll get a million different answers here. but it’s your wedding, if you don’t think it’s necessary or want one, don’t do it.🤷‍♀️

We're not having a flower girl, nor any substitution.

Our male friend is going to be our "flower guy". He jokingly suggested it one day and then he really wanted it. We're not having kids at the wedding so I don't see why not lol. I agree with not having one if you can't or don't want to. It's such a minor part of the wedding.

We are doing a flower girl but she will have a ribbon. Not throwing petals. They can get messy.

For my first wedding, I didn't have a flower girl or a ring bearer. They are not necessary and no one misses them. For this wedding, my best friend was able to be involved (her husband is in the military so wasn't available for my 1st wedding) so her 3 daughters were my flower girls and her son was my ring bearer. My church prohibits flower petals, aisle runners, and anything else on the aisle except for pre-approved décor due to tripping hazards. As a result, I had my flower girls carry lanterns.

I was going to have a flower girl (but we dont think she is going to cooperate as she is 3 and shy) but the church wont let us throw down rose petals anyway as it is a “fall risk”

I don’t think it’s necessary, but if you want to have someone drop petals, maybe your mom or grandma could do it? I saw that at a wedding once and everyone loved it! And their grandma had the time of her life!

You do not need one! We only have one because a family member asked in advance.

Not a big need. Don't feel pressured to have a flower girl.

You can totally skip out on having a flower girl! Another thing you could do is just ask someone else that is important to you to do that. I've also had a friend do a flower procession (believe me when she first told me that I was like wtf haha) - basically she just had several important females in her life literally throw petals.

Personally I have asked my brother to be my "flower man" LOL! It's your wedding, make it yours however you want! (:
