Help! My dress' sequins, beading & lace HURT

Private User, on January 9, 2013 at 5:44 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 3

I love the dress. I brought it home. I wore it around, and OUCH. My arms are all chaffed. 2 hours after I took the dress off, my arms still sting. Has anyone heard of seamstresses sewing tulle over the beading or taking the beads off? The store (VOWS) assured me that this was a common problem and easily fixed. My arms sting. I'm worried.

If it's a common problem, shouldn't the store have a solution for you?

I found that baby powder on my arms helped a little but you have to reapply frequently.

On beaded dresses for Irish Dancers we used a spray that had Liocaine in it, it was very effective and long lasting, also helped with the rash/itch that will come, other than that, not much to do covering the beads and sequins that I know of...Good Luck.x
