Hi, sorry, need to vent and ask for advice. So, we're two weeks and day to the wedding. Future DH goes to men's wearhouse to pick up his suit. When we bought the tux, we were told that if 7 or more groomsmen rented a tux, we got a $600 voucher we could apply to DH's tux. We had to pay the $600...

We had to pay the $600 ourselves first and then we would be refunded that amount before the wedding and the voucher would be applied. I assumed to make sure that we had enough groomsmen tuxes rented. Cool, we wanted that. Makes sense.

Here's where it gets messy. Today, expecting to get our money back, DH is told he can only get a $400 voucher for future purchases and they could give him the difference of $200 cash because of being told $600.

No. Just no. We need that $600 for bills and final wedding costs. We wouldn't have bought his tux if that were the case. We would have rented a cheaper tux. It costs almost as much as my dress that was a hem to hollow.

What should I do? We need that money. Not more MW crap.

@Davistobe Yeah, the no debt thing, in general, is unavoidable seeing as we graduated from college literally a year ago and have quite a bit student debt. Welcome to the life of two 21st century 23 year olds. It wasn't a bank loan either. We asked for help because they MADE us pay for it before the voucher. Telling us we would get it all back. We wouldn't have gotten the tux ordered otherwise. There was only a $50 difference between the voucher and what we paid for the tux.

I was told it would be a $400.00 credit to use in store, or a free tux. We opted for the free tux because we don't need anything from there. I've never heard of them doing $600 in cash or store credit...

We got the free tuxedo rental for booking 5 packages for the groomsmen. We only had to put down $40 to reserve the tux.

I just looked on our receipt and it says "up to $600" so not a promise to receive exactly $600.
