Help me with this dress for my brother's wedding

talors511, on May 11, 2013 at 2:53 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 3

Hi there,My brother's wedding is in July and I have a bit of a problem - I bought a dress ages ago. Now we're getting closer to the date and I've started trying on, accessorising in earnest, I've decided I really just don't like it! Sadly, it is just NOT flattering on me I'm a bit annoyed with myself but c'est la vie! So have made the decision I need to find a new dress and I have found this one online:

Could you guys please chime in with thoughts? What do you think about the colour? It says in the details it's 'coral' but I've always thought of coral as being a bit orange-y whereas this seems light pink. While I'm quite comfortable with various shades of pink, I'm not really sure about 'coral'? Some more experienced tPFers might be able to advis. And I have gold accessories at the moment do you think they could still work with this one? And what would you suggest I wear over it for wedding

It said "coral pink", I thought that coral was closer to orange. Why not just order the orange one that they have under the color selection? I wouldn't wear coral pink, if I'm expected to wear coral.

Since this is the second time you are getting a dress, I wouldn't buy anything online that you couldn't try on. I would check out the department stores to see what they had and to see what it looked like on me before I bought it.

With gold accessories, I also suggest sticking with jewel-tones rather than pastels. Colors that would go well: emerald green, royal blue, dark purple.

I agree with Barbara, you really don't want to get the dress and find out you hate it then at square one again. At least in a store you can see what you like and how it fits on you.
