Sorry in advance for the long post, but who doesn’t love talking rings?!? So before FH and I got engaged, I told him I liked “pearl but make it sparkly” lol. And yay, he delivered, and I love my engagement ring!!
But now that we’ve started looking at wedding bands, I’ve been having a difficult time finding anything. Probably because I’ve been too picky haha. So we’ve started popping into random jewelry stores just to take a look, and this past weekend I finally found a store with not one, but two bands I absolutely love! I’m trying to decide between these two now, but I change my mind by the hour. And I know it doesn’t matter what other people think, but I am in my head a little that maybe I just have horrible taste and my finger is going to look like a hot mess. So anyway, anyone have any thoughts on either of these? Here are some of the qualities I’ve been prioritizing:
  1. Because my e-ring is a pearl, it’s very delicate and there are a lot of places I can’t wear it. So I want my wedding band to look good both with my e-ring and by itself
  2. The halo around my pearl has been making things tricky for me. There’s the weird shape (although some contour rings have actually fit pretty well with it), and then with the double band it kind of looks like there’s already a wedding band there. So a lot of diamond contours that have fit seamlessly just kind of blend in and make it all look too thick IMO.
  3. Partially to address that last point, and partially because of personal preference, I love the look of sapphire and diamond bands. I love how the pop of color makes it clear that I have a wedding band on and adds some umph lol.
  4. I am trying to balance keeping my engagement ring as the main event while also having a band that is distinctive from the ring.
  5. I know switching my engagement ring to my right finger is an option…I just don’t want to unless I have to lol.

So anyway, I know customizing is an option, and we’ve been talking to a local jeweler in our price range. It’s just so hard to visualize whether I’ll love the look without actually seeing it. But we’ve been leaning toward going that route until I found these rings over the weekend. Ring A has the leaf shape which matches the ones on my e-ring, and if I place my ring in the right spot, it actually does sit flush in the center, so it makes it look intentional and like it actually fits. (I’m including a pic of that fit, but it came out a little blurry.) Leaving the store, this was my top choice. After sleeping on it and looking at the pics a million times, though, I’ve fallen in love with Ring B. I actually love the non-flush look in this one and like that it doesn’t get as covered up by my e-ring stones, so my main concern is whether it’s too flashy and pulling attention away from my pearl. Also, the store confirmed that they can customize both rings to give them contour and make them flush with my ring, so does anyone think either of these would work better with my ring if they did that?
Sorry for rambling, but I’m desperate to get other opinions!

I really like the first one! I think it matches the patterning in your engagement ring really well! And if that one sits flush with your ring without needing to be contoured then I think it would be a great option if you're not going to wear your engagement ring all the time.

Another option (if it's in your budget of course) would be to get ring A soldered to your engagement ring so it sits in the right place without twisting, then get ring B as a "just the band" ring.

I like the first ring better also. Get it contoured. It's a beautiful set! Love the pearl e-ring!!!

I see the appeal in both, but my gut reaction was 1. If the jeweler contours the ring, it's going to have a noticeable curve in 2 that you may not want in a standalone. The curve would be more subtle in 1. I also think 1 matches your halo better
