Help! Looking to buy specific Martina Liana wedding top/bodice

Natalie, on July 30, 2018 at 2:25 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 5

Hi everyone! This past weekend I went to my fourth (I know, but I'm so picky!) wedding dress appointment. To my surprise, I absolutely loved a corset/bodice separate piece that the consultant chose for me. Unfortunately it was nearly $1000 for JUST the top! I can't bring myself to spend that much on such a tiny piece of clothing, but I absolutely loved it and feel like it was The One. I figured I could find a simple tulle skirt like the one pictured on Amazon or somewhere else for a reasonable price.

Not sure if this is PC or not, but does anyone know where I can purchase this piece (preowned, sample, etc.) for an affordable price or is anyone selling this in a size 14 or 16? I've included the link below from the designer's website - it's the Claude top by Martina Liana. Thank you guys!!

Hi Natalie, I bought a Martina Liana bodysuit! Beautiful in person and in photos. Have you looked at Tradesy or PreOwnedWeddingDresses?

I'm not sure what your total gown budget is...but yes, even though $1K seems ridiculous for a top, you can probably get a great tulle skirt on eBay or Amazon for $100. So $1100 for a wedding dress isn't outrageous.

Tip: I would think a plain tulle skirt online would be fine. I ordered a custom one (e-mailed a pic) via eBay with layers and although the quality was good it did not look designer like at all. Smiley sad If you want something other than plain tulle, I suggest getting a used designer brand or go to a bridal store. I finally found a Morilee skirt that was amazing, brand new for $450.

Hi there! If I would have known how difficult it is to find this top preowned, I might have just gone for it at the bridal shop this past weekend. I've poured over Tradesy, StillWhite, PreOwnedWeddingDresses and can't find it used anywhere! I think it might be a current/new style still.

I'm glad you were able to find a beautiful skirt! I'm super frugal and I was hoping to spend less than $700 for a dress, but my style preferences seem to be well over that price point Smiley laugh I'm having regrets that I didn't purchase it in-store since it was "on sale" ...our wedding is so frugal I'm thinking this dress (both pieces) should have been my one splurge!

Can you call up the store and ask about their sale price? Tell them it's over your budget and you had to go home to re-evaluate your budget and can make it work only at the sale price. The bridal shop just had a Martina Liana trunk show a few days before I placed my order, I asked, and they gave me the trunk store discount. Try it! Smiley smile

That is definitely a good point - it doesn't hurt to try! The store would probably rather make a sale at a lower price than not at all! Thank you for your helpful advice Smiley smile
