Help! Invitations issues

I would ask your best man how he feels about it. Unfortunately divorces and break ups usually also break up friend groups. Especially if it's going to be fresh it might not be a good idea.

Your wedding is still really far away so I wouldn't worry about this until next year. If you're still close to both of them when you're preparing your final list, invite them both with their significant others if they have them.

I agree with Sarah. Give it some time and see where you stand with her closer to your wedding day. I would say to tentatively include her in your list for now and then to reevaluate when you are sending out your Save the Dates (or Invitations, if you skip sending STDs).


You might also warn your BM if you decide to invite her. It would not be right to surprise him on the wedding day with his ex.

Your Save the Dates wouldn't even be sent until about a year from now, so I would just hold off on any decisions and see how relationships settle. You'll have a lot clearer picture by then. Maybe don't even send her an STD and wait to decide when you send invitations a few months before the wedding if you're still unsure.

If you are good friends with the wife and would otherwise like to invite her in her own right, that is totally fair.

I agree with the others though - a lot can change between now and October 2023 and I wouldn't make any decisions on this until closer to when invitations are ordered. Between now and then they might get back together, might split up and both move on, etc etc.
