Just Said Yes April 2020

Help, I’m losing my mind!

Nicole, on March 15, 2020 at 9:33 PM Posted in Planning 0 5
I get married 4/25/2020, and I am absolutely freaking out about the wedding with the COVID-19. We’re getting married inside and our guest list is approximately 130. I have no clue what to do, if I just wait it out a little longer or talk to our venue. We’ve waited years for this and I’m just a little worried and pissed off about all of this.

You are not alone! I am freaking out as well..May 2, 2020 wedding. Most of our guests are traveling from out of state. I’m worried we are going to be out thousands of dollars if we have to reschedule. Right now I have an email out to our venue to see other available dates this year. We have been waiting for this day for 2+ years. I am devastated.

We are also 4/25 and we made the difficult decision a few days ago to postpone. All of our vendors are being extremely understanding and we’re trying to pick a date that works for everyone. Most likely mid summer. We’re still planning on getting married on the 25th but it will just be a tiny ceremony at my parents house. It was obviously a really hard decision to make but it is definitely the best one. We want our wedding to be a big fun party and with all this going on(besides the fact that the cdc says limit to 50 people for the next 8 weeks), we want it to be worth it and worry free.

Breathe guys! Talk to your vendors and work out a plan b. Our vendors were all understanding, and they moved our wedding without extra payment from us. We will get through this. As far as I know, most vendors are ignoring their contractors and working with couples - it's in their best interest. So it'll be ok. Just ask them when you can.

I’m right there with you- wedding 4/26. We’re going to talk to our vendors tomorrow and see what we can do. Maybe postponing and doing a 1 yr vow renewal and having a small ceremony this year that we can live stream somehow. I also want to get married on our date, I haven’t been counting down all this time for nothing. We’re thinking of just having it be the wedding party in my FMIL’s backyard or at the courthouse and taking photos nearby and then celebrating with champagne and cake. It’s not what we want but it’s the marriage, not the wedding that matters

I would absolutely talk to the venue and vendor to see what options you’ve got first
