Help! i need to find a venue for under $1000 in southern california!

Ruth, on January 26, 2018 at 1:27 AM Posted in California Planning 1 26
Does anyone know of any venues where i can have my wedding ceremony and rwcreception, for under $1000? I'm hoping for my whole wedding to cost under $1000, that would include the venue, food, decorations, invitations, etc. I'm hoping to find an outdoor location that can hold upto 100 guests. If anyone knows of any places or has any suggestsions, It would be greatly appreciated!

Do you have anyone that’s a member of an elks lodge or a veteran? Those places give discounts with members- so my FH and I were able to rent a place in the Central Valley (caifornia) for less an 1,000... but good luck, everything is slowly adding up for us so just between a photographer and the venue will be at 2000... but to stay under 1000 with up to 100 guests is going to be super hard. Again good luck though and best wishes!!

A whole wedding for 100 guests for $1,000? Not happening. Even if you spent all the money on food, that would be only $10 a person, which is about enough to buy a meal at McDonald's. And then you'd still need to buy the dress and all the other stuff you mentioned.

Wait, what? How many guests will you have? You want to find a venue that holds up to 100 people so I assume you plan to have around 100 guests, but you want to have your whole wedding for under $1,000???? So you want to spend like $10 per person? I’m sorry but that’s very unrealistic! People struggle to have weddings that cost less than $10,000 and most spend a lot more than that. Especially in SoCal where things tend to be expensive!

I'm still not sure how many people are coming but about 100 is the amount that we plan to invite. However, I'm sure not everyone will be able to attend. If we could at least find a venue for under $1000, for ceremony and reception, that would be a great start as well. I'm still planning things out, open to suggestions and we're on a really tight budget. So any help would be greatly appreciated.

Well you could look into getting a permit to have your wedding at a local park. There are some nice ones with gazebos. The fees to use the park usually aren’t too high.

Usually the Parks and Rec department of the county where you want to get married. I don’t know what part of SoCal you had in mind, but I live in San Diego and came across a helpful guide about park weddings back when I was looking at venues, so I want back and found it for you. Some of the parks and very pretty and honestly this is about as cheap as it’s going to get to rent a place for a wedding (at least in SD and I’d think that the OC and LA will be similar): http://www.sdparks.org/content/dam/sdparks/en/pdf/BrochuresMiscellaneous/Wedding%20Budget%20Sheet%20FINAL.pdf

If you want a $1,000 wedding you’ll need to cut your guest list no matter what. That’s not realistic.

Know anybody willing to rent their farmland? Rent a park?

It's almost impossible to do a wedding for that cheap unless you cut a lot of corners. My venue here in northern Cali was $8,000 for all inclusive and that's pretty cheap! I don't want to sound huffy, but perhaps you need to reevaluate your budget, push the wedding back, or seriously cut the guest list down. Otherwise, you may want to consider eloping, which is possible with that budget if you keep it to 20 people max.

You can't even have a restaurant wedding for that budget. I'd recommend cutting your guest list.

Ruth, as everyone has been saying hopefully you can come up with more money and cut your guest list, but another idea I had for you to keep costs low is to have a cake and punch wedding in the afternoon. That would be nice in a park and a lot cheaper than trying to feed people actual food.

That's a really tall order to fill for that price. Is there anyone who can let you use their backyard for the wedding/reception??? Good and drinks, some do it yourself decorations ... You might be able to do it that way.

I have heard $100 to rent the park and I've even heard free. Call the city commissioner or whatever you call them and ask. It's usually easy and cheap.

The place I'm getting married is ridiculously cheap for what we are getting ... Literally EVERYTHING except the liquor and centerpieces ... We take care of those ... Ceremony/reception $7600 for 50. Their cheapest is $650 but that's for 25 people. I don't see you pulling this off with that many people for that price. I'm sorry. I had to be very picky on the invites and keep it to close family, and friends who we are in contact with REGULARLY. If anyone drops out, we'll fill their spots. You can check Pinterest. They have some great ideas there.

Thank you everyone for your suggestions. i think i may have found a nice community center in brea. They charge by the hour though, so we wont be able to rent the hall for an all day wedding.
