How do I convince my fiancé that all of his cousins especially those that are under 21 don’t need to be at the wedding. But also how do you invite some and not the others to the wedding if they are from the same parents? And if other see those kids there will they be mad their kids couldn’t come? I...

I personally don’t want anyone who isn’t the age of 21 at the wedding. How do I tell people in the invitation that it’s adults only?

I sort of like that 14+ limit. Even as a family-focused gathering, I don't think kids under around 14 would attend because they want to be there themselves but more their parents who thought it would work out better. Of course, if cousins are good friends too (didn't happen with me) and are near in age to the betrothed couple, it is a bit different then. I think that any younger than 14, I would not have been that interested.

This is not an issue for us. We don't anticipate having any children among our guests or in the ceremony.

We aren’t having kids at our wedding. The only exception is our one and only niece, who will be our flower girl. When we looked at inviting our cousins kids we realized it would add close to $500 to the catering cost and for his cousins children to come and have the “child’s meal” of chicken nuggets it just wasn’t in the budget. $500 is a lot of money when you are already spending a lot of money.
Once I worked the numbers and brought that number to my fiancé he completely on board with just cutting all the kids out.

One reason we're giving for our wedding being 21+ is that we can be sure there will be no underage drinking.

If you are not afraid of salty feelings from the families who can't have their kids there, this is what I would do:

    1. Address the invite to only the parents. i.e. Mr. & Mrs. John Doe

    2. Send separate invites to kids that are over 21, would be best if they have a different address than the parents

We had this issue because my cousins are like the age of my fiancé's cousins' kids. We couldn't pick an age because any kid that was 18+ had younger siblings and we had a couple of 18 year olds that were non-negotiable, so saying 21+ wasn't an option. Our way to work with all of that was to invite in circles out to first cousins. So even though some of my cousins are like 15, they are invited over an 18 year old 2nd cousin on his side.

To answer your first question though, you don't convince him. You guys need to try and come to a compromise. It's not always fun and it definitely won't make everyone happy, but that's better than one person having to give everything up.
