Help! How do I get a discontinued dress?

Amanda, on January 9, 2015 at 7:23 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 9

I found this beautiful dress online. It is everything I want in a dress and it was really reasonably priced. I was really excited and already had my heart set on it. While researching the seller alizeebridal, I realized that the websites reviews were all faked and the real designer dress from mori lee has been discontinued. Many people buy knock offs to save money, but I just really want this discontinued dress and the only way to get something close would be to buy a knockoff. Does anyone know of a reliable seller to do a replica dress (for a reasonable price)? I don't want to order from China for many reasons, one being that I won't have my measurements until after I give birth, about 3 months before the wedding. Also I don't trust any company that fakes reviews. Please give your advice and real pictures (not broken links to nonexistent pictures). Thank you!

Try dresses on in person, I'm sure there are plenty that are somewhat similar. And do not buy knock offs.. I've heard horror stories! You could do a reverse image search via google, or you could just look for something else! I'm sorry that it is discontinued! You'll find one you love just as much though, I promise

You could try off the rack places. They usually carry sample dresses and consigned dresses and the ones that didn't sell from the previous year.

I really love the high low style and I'm having no luck finding one I like in person. If I purchased a "knock-off" it would be from a US seamstress, not overseas. And like I said before I wouldn't be doing it save money, I just really love the style of this dress! I don't know of any dressmakers. I'll look into an off the rack place, I've never heard of that before.

You could always try a preowned site. You may be able to find them there.

If you find a dress with a bodice you love and a simple skirt and hem, it can be relatively easily hemmed into a high/low hemline like the discontinued mori-lee.

So I wouldn't limit yourself to gowns that are already designed to have a high-low hem as it could really limit your options.

I have also found a dress I absolutely love that is discontinued. I actually tried the same dress on for prom 4 years ago and fell in love the second she laced it up. This was also a Mori Lee dress. I was just dress shopping and the exact same dress I tried on for prom popped up only in white. Unfortunately it is over 4 years old and discontinued, but I would LOVE if I could find the dress I fell in love with 4 years ago and never got to wear.

Oh my gosh! I'm having the exact same problem, only nowhere will tell me if it's actually discontinued, only says sold out on every website. I tried it on and bought it, but never got to wear it because I got dumped the day before. It had bad memories so I got a different dress the next year for prom. I am getting married soon and I showed my future husband the pictures of when I got the dress because we're low on money and I thought I still had it, it would have been perfect to repurpose for a better man. I could picture in my head exactly where I thought it was in my closet, but for the life of me I can't find it. It was 98079 so it can't be easily hid, I might have given it away to goodwill or something and just forgot, but I just can't remember. We both love that dress and I already know how it would look and fit because my body hasn't changed at all in 4 years, I can even wear clothes from 5 years ago! I really wish I could find it, the other styles that look similar just don't call out to me like the 98079 Mori lee gown...
