Help! Has anyone wore the Hayley Paige "Londyn" gown & had it bustled?!

RaeAnne, on June 12, 2017 at 2:01 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 14

Hello everyone!!!

So I've currently run into a problem with my Hayley Paige Londyn gown (well it's not the dress that's the problem, it's my seamstress!!) She added HUGE satin buttons where the waist meets the skirt in the back because she said that was the only way it could be bustled!

I was hoping someone else on here who wore this dress for their wedding (or any dress like it) could give me some tips on what to tell my seamstress, because there has to be other options to be able to bustle my dress without making it look different & adding huge buttons, right?

If anyone knows any other way to be able to bustle this dress, please let me know!

Thank you so much, I really appreciate it!

I don't have a picture of the buttons but I do have a picture of the back of the dress! I'm sorry it's sideways- I don't know why my phone does that!

The buttons are all along the back of my dress where the waist meets the tulle skirt now.

Maybe the buttons aren't as noticeable as you think? I just had my alterations appt and I went in wanting a "french" bustle aka where they bustle underneath. At DB they explained doing like 3 small french bustles so that was stuck in my head. My seamstress explained I would look like a giant bubble and showed me what you are describing with some buttons and I liked her version more.

I don't have this dress but my dress does have handkerchief bottom similar to this( longer I believe) but the top layer is short like yours. My seamstress bustled it under the first couple of layers. So the buttons and all of that is hidden under a few layers. Might be worth trying.

I have the HP Nicoletta gown and my seamstress is putting a button underneath so the bottom layer can be brought up. Your train isn't that long, seems like bringing that bottom layer all the way up to your waist would make it too short.

@VegasWed Oh that's such a gorgeous gown too!!!

That's a good idea and she did do that for some of my dress (put little buttons underneath to bring some of the dress up) so like you said I don't know why she's adding the buttons either because my train isn't long at all? Thank you!!

My dress has a bunch of different lengths of tulle around the bottom and my seamstress is talking about doing something similar to what Rachel is describing.

I wore the Hayley Paige Lennon dress which also has some handkerchief hemlines and they bustled mine in 2 rows underneath the top layers of the skirt like Rachel said. You could barely tell it was bustled!

    Pic 1 - dress isn't bustled yet

My dress is vera wang and has a similar bottom/train. I think there should have been a way to bustle it without the hooks being noticable. Mine isn't noticeable and it has a ton of layers!
