Help!! Hair and makeup

So I am super frustrated. I booked the venue of my dreams and paid double other venues were costing because it has the bridal suite. I have 11 hours for the day.

My photographer is saying he needs us to be ready by 12pm in order for him to do first look and have our ceremony start at 3pm.
This gives me, my 5 bridesmaids, my MIH and my mom 2 HOURS!!! to get ready. If I knew that, I would have saved money on the venue and NOT had the bridal suite dream in my head 馃槧
How long did it take for you and your party to get ready?

We started hair and makeup at 8 AM and had to be done by 2 PM. I had 9 people for which included two flower girls and my grandmother who only got a blow out. I had 5 people for makeup which included two flower girls.

See if you can get into the bridal suite earlier, that鈥檚 what we鈥檙e doing. Of course we had to pay for it but it just worked out better doing it that way. Besides myself I have 7 bridesmaids, 2 Moms and a flower girl getting hair and makeup done. We have 2 girls applying makeup and 2 for hair. Starting at 7:30am and will be done by 11:30 to head to the venue.

You may want to consider nixing the first look. I'm not doing one, because I didn't want to wake up before 9am Smiley laugh

Also, how many hair/makeup artists will you have? If you have at least 4 artists, you could plausibly finish on-time (although not likely).

When you say 鈥済et ready鈥 in 2 hours, does that just include getting dressed? If so, then 2 hours is more than enough time to put on dresses. Or is hair/makeup and dressing supposed to take place in 2 hours. If that鈥檚 the case, then there鈥檚 definitely not enough time unless you have multiple artists.

We (12 of us) are getting our hair and makeup done at a salon at 9am and will be out around 12. We are then heading to my house to 鈥済et ready鈥 (aka throw the dresses on 馃槀) and get to the church by 2:00. Our first look is planned for 2:15 with the ceremony beginning at 3:00. I wonder why your photographer needs 3 hours for the first look?? Is everything right in the same area?Starting in the morning, I will have one photographer with me and my fianc茅 will have the other with him. We are using the church courtyard for our first look (weather-permitting 馃馃徎) which is obviously connected to the church haha. I can鈥檛 imagine it will be more than 15 minutes then we are planning to get some pictures of us and a few of the wedding party together in the half hour that鈥檚 left before the ceremony to cut down on pictures after the wedding so we can attend at least some of our cocktail hour! Maybe I鈥檓 being crazy thinking we can do all of that in 45 minutes?? Haha who knows! I鈥檇 ask your photographer if any later would work! Good luck!!

That sounds frustrating, but I think you can still work with it!

We are not allowed at the venue until 11am the day of the wedding. We are getting our hair & makeup done at the hotel we鈥檙e staying at, near the venue. Once we鈥檙e ready & we鈥檒l meet our photographer at the venue and take our 鈥済etting ready鈥 pics in the bridal suite at the venue.
Getting ready pics aren鈥檛 that important to me, but our photographer assured us that we鈥檇 be able to get some at the venue bridal suite.
We鈥檒l be doing our first look at 1/1:30 pm with a ceremony starting at 3 pm.

I would definitely ask and see if you can get in earlier. I just called 2 days ago to book my hair and makeup. The girls and I are going to a salon because the girl that I really want to do my hair said it would be better that way (more hands on deck, all the supplies at the ready so they don't have to worry about forgetting anything, etc.) Anyway, I only have 4 bridesmaids, so 5 total including me. I was told there will be 2 hair stylists and 2 makeup artists and they only booked us for 2 hours, and think we may end up done in less than the 2 hours. You have almost twice as many people so I would hate to see you all being rushed and not have an enjoyable, relaxing morning.

We started hair and makeup at 9am and were getting final touchups at 3:15pm. There were 7 girls (including myself) getting services. We did our first look at 4pm and my ceremony was at 5:30pm. Any chance you can push your ceremony time back?

We started getting ready at 10AM for our 5PM ceremony, and we didn't do a first look. We planned to be ready by 4 PM. We had 13 women getting ready, so we hired 4 artists.

Thank you for your input. Did they charge extra for the other artists? Did all of your girls get both makeup and hair done?

Thank you! This puts me a little at ease that if I get an extra hour, it could possibly work out if I ask the photographer to push it to 1pm

We chose a Sunday wedding so our venue is giving us 9pm end time for reception, unfortunately not Smiley sad we may be able to do 330 at the latest. Did you have more than one stylist?

Yes see I think it is doable to maybe not have the photo session be 3 hours as planned by the photographer..

So it sounds like it's doable almost having half of the people, and maybe everyone won't get services and just do it themselves also
