Help finding free Calligraphy fonts

ELIZABETH, on March 12, 2011 at 9:55 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 10

Sorry to ask this if it's been asked and answered before. Can anyone tell me where I can download free fonts from. Also if I print directly on the envelopes is that tacky or is that ok? Or should I use labels..which I'm not really crazy about?

Thanks for you help.

By the way, things seem to be ok here at home since I had my talk with the kids and gave them deadlines and responibilities and expectations... so one day at a time.

Use clear labels so it gives the effect that they were written on. For free fonts use www.dafont.com

In MS Word is Monotype Corsiva. I use it on the wedding certificates and ceremony booklets that I give my couples.

I'd print directly on the envelopes, if you can. Clear labels would be my second choice.

I think this site might help: http://www.fontspace.com/category/Calligraphy

here's one but it downloads as a .zip file so you'd have to extract it & all that crap:

Other than that... Lucida Handwriting is also a beautiful font.

As Nancy said, try to print directly on the envelope.

There are TONS of great free fonts out there. I'm kind of obsessed with them actually. Really love DaFont and Font Space. A few of my favorites are Champignon, Heather and Aspire.

Here's what I'm doing for our invites. It's a calligraphy cheat I saw on Design Sponge where you print the envelopes very lightly and then trace over them with, in my case, a fountain pen. Let's you have the look of hand calligraphy with only a little work on your part:

    Good Luck!
