Help! Eyebrow wax burns and wedding is in 4 days!

Courtney, on May 11, 2018 at 11:03 PM Posted in Hair and Makeup 0 6

So I had my eyebrows waxed this afternoon, and my skin lifted pretty bad under each eyebrow. Our wedding is in FOUR DAYS and in HAWAII, so I am panicking at this point.

I've been applying a layer of neosporin regularly (aloe vera stung too much upon application). The neosporin has kept it hydrated and the pain down, but I am extremely worried about the healing process and possible scabbing/scarring.

Has this ever happened to anyone? How long did it take to heal? Any suggestions for a fast healing process? Any feedback welcomed!

Burn cream will help or neosporin. You could also try coconut oil in between.

I’ve been using neosporin. Not sure if aquaphor would be better or not

They are both pretty much the same thing. The one big difference is that Neosporin has an antiseptic and it will Aquaphor does not. Both are petroleum based though.

UPDATE (w/ pictures): It looks soo much better this morning. The redness is almost gone and swelling has gone down. I still have streaks under each eyebrow, but I’ve been keeping Neosporin on them, so hopefully they won’t scab over. Luckily I had eyelash extensions put in, so it somewhat covers it lol!

I went ahead and reached out to my MUA, and she said they have a silicone-based cover up that works miracles. I feel so much better knowing that. Thank you all so much for your suggestions and the positive thoughts! I will keep you updated! I've attached before and after pictures

How did it go? I'm really glad you posted this because I just got home from the salon trying to hold back tears because this happened to me, also four days out. I'm covered in neosporin now and just praying. Any tips?

Also, thanks for the pics. It helped reassure me.

Everything ended up working out. I kept them covered in neosporin 24/7 (neorsporin worked better for me than aquaphor). I never let them get dry. I kept a little tube of it with me and a few q tips and reapplied several times a day.

They ended up scabbing over and the scabs fell
off literally the morning of my wedding! It was like nothing had happened. I reached out to my MUA beforehand just in case, and she reassured me that (worst case scenario) if there were scabs for the ceremony, she had silicon-based cover up meant specifically for situations like this. I would for sure reach out to your MUA to give her a heads up. But more than likely they will heal faster than you think! It will all work out 🙂 Keep us posted!
