I have lost a bunch of weight and the see stress said she couldn't take it in anymore than she already has. I told her to anyway and now the back is all bunching. I am swimming in it still and she has probably taken it down four inches. At this point my wedding is in 9 days. My friend is a...

My friend is a seamstress and offered some okay solutions but the bodice is still so big. What should I do?

@MrsA2B I started doing deep water aerobics. I didn't lose any real weight but I toned up a bunch. I started in September but I got hit head on by another car and wasn't able to work out until May. I wasn't really expecting fat to drop off this quickly. Going to a bridal shop to see if I can get anything off the rack. I don't think I can afford last minute alterations at this point.

Thank you all for making me think it doesn't look so bad. I tried to order a sundae last night but FH didn't hear me. I'll try to take it in elsewhere if I can this evening. I don't have the car right now

Wouldn't alterations cost the same or less than an entire new dress? I mean you can do whatever works best for you, but from the pics you posted I think you look great! A push up bra and shorter straps would do a lot.

For your chest, I would buy an extra padded bra, or you can just get extra padding to add in. I would probably call another seamstress and see if they can do anything and if you can't then maybe you could try your friend. Congrats on the weight loss though! The dress looks beautiful on you (I really can't tell from the first photo that it's too big).

I would get another opinion. It may cost a lot, but it can always be rebuilt to fit.

I've been told by several tailors that the most they can go up or down is 2 sizes.

I do agree with the others, that trying to get a belt or something like that may give you more of the hourglass figure and more of a shape.

Trying to gain weight is a terrible idea. The dress still won't fit right, and you will end up feeling shitty because you're bloated. I would take it to a good seamstress who can do a rush job and have it taken apart and put back together. It will cost you an arm and a leg probably, but how you feel about yourself on your wedding day is on the line here.

I would go to another seamstress...I would think it would be cheaper than buying a whole new dress off the rack.

Update. Found a back up that fits perfectly. I listed this dress on tradesy. Fingers crossed. Maybe it will all work out

Check WW for a list of seamstresses in your area, then google, yelp, etc. Start calling them all and let them know you need at minimum alterations and at maximum a dress restructuring. They should be able to let you know pretty quickly if they are or are not willing and able to take on that work.

Then, go to 2 or 3 who say they can and go with who you feel best with.

It can be done, but it's a lot of work, so be prepared to pay.
