Help! Date may be too hot for my wedding dress!

Elena, on August 1, 2020 at 7:03 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 5
I was planning to get married this November 2020 but postponed to October 2021 due to covid. The dress I originally purchased is long sleeved and just arrived and had me worried it’s not gonna go. I am getting married in Columbia SC in afternoon ceremony and evening reception. My wedding is a traditional Catholic-Anglican full mass and the reception will be indoors at an art gallery. Columbia is know to have warmer falls and winters as it is and I’m worried that maybe my dress will be too hot for early October now?

I researched the avg temps Oct H:79 L:55 and November H:69 L:47

I know it seems trivial but quarantine gives me wayyyyy too much time to overthink things and obviously now that I have my dress I’m worried about the heat situation. It was such a headache to get everything rescheduled for October and really want you guys thoughts on what you would do? I spent $3000 on my dress sooo not wearing it is NOT an option to me at this point. Please help!!!!

What about having someone alter the sleeves into quarter length or short sleeve?

Your ceremony and reception are both indoors, so you'll be fine. The art gallery will be especially cool as to preserve the art. You'll survive a few photos outside and retreat to the A/C!

What material are the sleeves made of? Do you have a picture?

I'm sure the venue will have A/C so I wouldn't worry

If the sleeves are lace or illusion netting, they may not make you that much warmer anyway!

And I also think you'll be fine if everything is indoors with AC!
