Help- bridesmaids colors (2 brides)

Tiffani, on July 12, 2019 at 5:33 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 5

Hey! So we are getting married next summer and are working on planning what colors to put our bridesmaids in. I am pretty set on black long dresses. But I think it would look good to have her gals in another complimentary tone so it doesnt look like we have a million people matching (we each have 7). I was thinking light grey? Any other brides do 2 colors? what did you do? I added the color pallet for decor im going for. Im thinking kind of boho tropical vibes.

You could do the darkest color in that pallet and then her girls in the light grey? If you're set on black, basically any color will look fine !

I think two colors will look good together, I mean the tux color usually doesn’t match the dress color if your having men in the WP, usually it’s a vest/shirt/tie to tie together the look. You have picked a very bright inspiration picture, so I’m curious why you’re thinking very monochromatic for the WP with black and grey rather than color. Do you plan on introducing the color with flowers? Black and grey don’t make me think tropical, so I’m curious what your vision is. Happy planning!

Yes- my venue is outdoors and is a kind of tropical garden. Lots of banana leaves and palm trees and greenery. I want to add decor that are those colors and wanted to have my bridesmaids were some "pops of color" with their black and have bright colored flowers. Same with the other bridesmaids and a neutral tone. I am having a hard time picturing if different color dresses would look better or if matching would- its so hard to tell!

I get that you want the colors to pop but black BM dresses may seem awfully stark next with your tropical colors and venue. What if your BMs wore a light gray and your FW’s BMs wore a darker gray? Or each side wore a lighter/darker shade of sand (with a yellow tone like the yellows in your palette)?

Hmm... it might also be nice if all BMs wore the same color, but your BMs wore a different top than your FW’s BMs? Or maybe all wear the same color, whatever style top they want, but your BMs have a different style of bouquet from your FW’s bouquets (same colors though)?

So many choices! My head hurts. 🤪
