Help!!! bookit cut and ran w/honeymoon $$

So I just got an e-mail from Bookit at 2 a.m. saying they have canceled our Honeymoon due to Corona Virus. Our Honeymoon was set for 10/6 of this year. They have NOT paid the resort.

Did they take our money and run??

Update: Apparently, BookIt went belly up. Folks who have booked with them contact your credit card company ASAP. Update/Edit: Already spoke to the credit card company, attempted to contact Bookit (they are closed/no reply), and now going to report to the state department.

My anxiety is 100/10 right now. O_O

    They’re canceling events for October already? Wow that’s jumping the gun. I would file a claim with your bank ASAP.

    We did. I read an article saying that they fired 85% of their employees and blamed it on the virus. They legit canceled everything with no refund. They also stranded a few families in Mexico. They didn't pay their bills either. O_O


    I don't think this has anything to do with the virus....

    I would contact them and ask if they will be refunding your account. If they don't, call the bank or credit card company to get them to cancel the charge.

    Yea I don’t think it has anything to do with the virus either. It’s really sad that people would use this crisis to take advantage of others, I hope you get your money back.

    Bookit shut everything down and there's no way to contact them. I already contacted the Credit Card company. This is insane...
