**HELP!** Are there any wedding dress websites with good return policies?

J, on January 24, 2014 at 3:23 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 10

I live in a small town and would like to order my wedding dress online. However, I can't seem to find any websites that allow returns for dresses that one simply doesn't like--with full refunds. Are there websites with sample dresses or good return policies for wedding dresses?

I am also on a tight budget and will not be spending an exorbitant amount of money on my dress, but I would still like to find a beautiful one.

I would be EXTREMELY careful of any wedding dress website where you buy your dress online. A lot of the dresses are knock-offs or cheap quality. I definitely think you could find an affordable dress in store. Have you tried Davids Bridal?

Honestly, I don't think I have even seen an entire return policy, anywhere. Most dresses are not made until the order is place, therefore, they put a dress in production, just for you. I know DB will let you exchange in most cases (not sure about online purchases, though)...

Have you ever thought of going to your local seamstress? They may can redesign a dress or specially make one for you for a decent price.

    http://www.bhldn.com/ accepts returns. Good Luck!

Bhldn is legitimate. It is an offshoot of Anthropologie.

I would also be very cautious about ordering online... I had found an Alfred Angelo dress online that was the exact same as one I found at a local bridal store but for WAAAAAY less... Then I was researching the website and it wasn't actually Alfred Angelo... It was a Chinese-made knock off.... A co-worker of mine (who also works as a bridal consultant) said that most of the time the online dresses may look the same, but the quality will be cheap (thin material, etc.).

And I know you said you tried David's Bridal, but did you know they do sample sales, too???

    Good luck!!!! Smiley smile

Oh, and weddingtonway.com does have some "100% returnable dresses" although, I don't know if that includes bridal dresses or not. And most of theirs are short.

From experience, David's Bridal and DBonline consider themselves separate entities. This only comes into play really for returns- online returns must be online and within 14 days.
