Help!! a diamond fell out of my ring!

Amanda, on July 25, 2018 at 1:44 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 27
Hey guys, so tonight after getting ready for bed I noticed when I put my ring back on that a diamond was missing. Luckily the company my fiancé bought the ring from is fantastic and will be fixing my ring, but I will have to be without it for two weeks! Is there anyone out there that has experienced this?? I'm really upset with myself Even though my fiancé says everything will be okay, I feel really guilty. I also will feel a little naked without my ring for so long. I can't be alone in this happening to me so I guess I'm just wondering if any of you had a similar guilty feeling and what to do about the lack of ring for two weeks. Thank you in advance for the help!

I had the same thing happen about 6 months after wearing the ring. It was one of the smaller diamonds on the band. Yes thankfully FH bought the warranty and it covered lost diamonds! I felt slightly guilty only because he made the comment about the ring being cheap. That thought never crossed my mind. I was so worried he actually thought that way.

I had a diamond fall out the band of tge ring a few months in. Went without the ring for about a week! I was just glad it could be fixed. Felt guilty because I thought I slammed it on something at work but it just happens!

I had that happen a couple of months ago. One of the side diamonds fell out. Thankfully our jeweler is a local guy that does the repairs himself so I was able to get it back 2 days later. It really feels weird when I don't have it on for a couple of days though

Thank you ladies. I feel better knowing I'm not alone. I think this is just an added stressor to an already hectic week. ❤❤❤

I've lost diamonds out of mine twice now and had to send it in to be replaced. Luckily we have insurance on it so it didn't cost us anything but I was without my ring for a few weeks each time. It's frustrating because I have small fingers so the small diamonds on the band don't stay in place as well as they would on a larger finger. I've been without my ring for about a month and a half now because I sent it in to have a custom wedding band made. Hoping it won't be much longer!

The one day I took a shower and took my ring off because I am terrified of losing it down the drain. WELL, I forgot to put it back on and then left for work without it. I had a lot of coworkers ask what had happened and if we called the wedding off and I was kind of offended, but it was definitely a lesson learned. If you feel naked without it, you could always buy one of those $2 exercise rings or whatever they're called. I know people use those when they're working out so that they don't mess up their actual rings. Just a suggestion! GOOD LUCK.

This hasn’t happened to me (luckily!) but I have not wanted to wear my diamonds at certain times (going to the beach, going to a bar in my old college town where there tends to be a lot of crime...) so I have a couple backup rings that I’ll just wear in its place. I got a silicon ring from enso that I love especially for things like swimming or working out, but I also will sometimes just wear another ring on that finger if I don’t want to wear my diamonds but feel naked without anything on that finger.

Im glad it’s getting fixed at least!

I'm looking into the enso rings. I workout often and have just always taken my ring off to workout but I hate not wearing anything. Will definitely buy! Thank you!

I had a sapphire fall out of mine a few weeks ago. I bought a cheapy silicone ring from Wal-Mart to replace my poor naked finger until it came back.

Aw, things happen, and this isn't your fault! 2 weeks is a lot of time to be without your ring - I totally get it, as I had to wait 2 weeks for mine to be resized. Do you have another ring you could wear in its place in the meantime?

At the time I just wore my Claddaugh ring that I typically wear on my right hand, but now I have a silicone Qalo ring that I wear when I'm active, so when I need to send my ring off in the future, that will be my go-to!

I try really hard to take my ring off anytime I am doing yard work, cleaning, or even lifting weights. In the summer I may go 3-4 days before I put it back on depending what I am doing each day. I ran into my grandmother, who I don’t have a relationship with at all, and I couldn’t figure out why she was staring at my hand.... after I left, I realized it was because I didn’t have my ring on! Oops! We bought the protection plan from the store, I get it inspected and cleaned every 6 months and if I lose any stones they replace them.

Same with me. I personally have been lucky and this has not happened to me. I do the same thing as for as taking it off when I'm at the gym, beach, showering, and I also do not wear it while I'm sleeping

I had this happen about a month after he proposed. It was a teeeeeny tiny diamond on the band, but I noticed it was missing. The jeweler fixed it in a day.

I didn’t have a diamond fall out but I did have to get it resized. It took about 3 weeks to get it fixed and I was soooo sad. My finger felt so weird without it lol. The place my FH got my ring from gives us a free cleaning anytime we want and also does maintenance on it every 6 months (any scratches, lodged particles in the crevices etc). Unfortunately for that they ship it out and I get it back in two weeks. FH keeps talking to me about going in for my 6 month maintenance and I keep brushing him off. NOONE will get this ring off my finger again hahaha. Embarrassingly enough I don’t even get it cleaned. I clean it myself with toothpaste. I guess I’ll come around lol

I TOTALLY understand. I feel like a little piece of me is missing. I love that ring and the symbolism it holds.

Mine is getting fixed right now too! Except my FH didn’t get insurance on it because he didn’t believe me that diamonds fall out! My finger feels so weird without it which is funny because at first it was so uncomfortable to wear.
i noticed while I was at work and I cried! I felt so bad, but as we know, it happens!

Do you have insurance on the ring? If not, I'd get some after this for future problems (if any). I have silicone rings I bought off Amazon (arrived in 2 days) for when I do stuff that isn't safe to wear a ring doing (hiking, biking, running, cooking, etc.) so you could order one of those? It was like $8
