Heels or Flats ?

Alpha, on December 3, 2016 at 12:42 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 70

Ladies! Would it look bad if I wear flats with my wedding dress? Would it not look elegant?

I am thinking of cute gold glittery flats to be comfy. What do you guys think?

I'm doing flats. I'm 5'10, I don't need to be any taller. Plus, I don't wear heels normally, I'd never survive wearing heels.

Not bad at all! There are plenty of cute flats out there. I'm planning on wearing flats myself. Or if you're worried about it, you could wear heels for the ceremony and pictures and change to flats for the reception.

It will look fine no matter what. Wear what you are comfortable in! I'm wearing gold sandals to our Jamaica wedding Smiley smile

You're gonna get mixed opinions on this for sure. What will YOU be comfortable in? I didn't want to change my shoes, then have my dress dragging, so I new going in when I got it altered that I would be in comfortable flats all day. Some ladies here will tell you that is tacky as hell to wear flats on your wedding day.

THIS is a most definitely "you do you" situation.

You can wear whatever you want! I don't wear flats, other ladies don't wear heels. I would be uncomfortable in flats because I don't like them. But if you do, they certainly aren't automatically less elegant. Wear what you are comfortable in.

I don't think so, I'll definitely be doing flats or sandals, just something with some pretty decoration. I'd rather be comfortable on my big day.

I'm 5'3 and clumsy, and FH is 5'5 lol. I will not be wearing heels for obvious reasons.

I won't wear flats, because with my plantar fasciitis they hurt my feet, but I'm wearing very low heels (probably a wedge or block heel) since my wedding is in my yard and I don't want to sink in the grass!

I'm wearing heels for the ceremony and flats for the reception. If you're more comfortable in flats, wear flats.

I did flats. We are a foot difference but I never wear heels so I sure wasn't going to attempt on my wedding day. I could only imagine face planting it as I walked down the aisle.

I'll be wearing flats because me and my FH are both 5'3. I don't want to tower over him and I want to be comfortable all night.

I'm wearing blue flats as a something blue... Etsy has vendors that make really pretty detailed shoes that I think make for a sweet hidden detail. My dress is a floor length gown though so I don't really worry about something no one will see. I'm 5'11 and don't need any more height but mostly just want to focus on other things than my blistering toes!

I went to a wedding last week where we were all shocked to giggles when the bride hiked up her dress to reveal sneakers! Wear what will make you happy/comfortable!

I think a good compromise is low heels. I wore a one inch heel. That way I was not a lot taller than my husband but it looks better than flats and you walk more gracefully.

I'm a bean stalk TOO (lol) and opting for flats. I thought at first, I would have to forfeit style for comfort until I found these beauties....cant wait to rock them!! Smiley smile

I'm wearing navy flats. My sister wore black lace flats. We're not heels kind of girls, so we went with flats. I think whatever makes you comfortable is what's best.

I'm tall also... my fiancé and I are about the same height he may be an inch or two taller than me. However, he doesn't want me to be taller than him on our photos, so I'm wearing flats for the wedding. It's actually a good thing because I don't have to have my wedding dress altered. I expect to be comfortable all night.
