Hi all,
For those who are at this point forced to have their ceremony and/or reception outdoors what are you doing to keep yourselves and the guests cool? Very unfortunate there is a heatwave but let’s try to keep this conversation uplifting and not bash anyone for making the decisions they have made to have an outside wedding.

Welcome to the WeddingWire community
I’m sure your guests will know a heatwave is happening and can plan accordingly (wear a hat, sunscreen, etc.).
Some cute ideas could be handheld fans, having cold bottled water available, sunscreen in the restrooms for anyone who forgot to apply that morning, and umbrellas erected for shade.
For yourself, it could be a great idea to have some cool patches that you could apply to your skin to keep you chill.
Have you spoken to your venue yet? Do they have any suggestions to keep guests cool?
How hot are they forecasting it will get?

Thanks! These are some good suggestions. Right now there is a projected forecast of 98 degrees! 😓

I had the same question! I’m getting married in Rhode Island- the projected forecast is 98 degrees as well! Everything is inside except for pictures- I got fans, water bottles and oil absorbing wipes for the bridal party but I will look into cool patches as well! Don’t want to look like a sweaty mess in pictures lol. So annoying that the heat wave is coming this weekend, wish it could have waited a few days
