Heartbroken, again

This whole wedding planning thing has been a rollercoaster. First my bio father decides he's not coming because he doesn't get to walk be me down the aisle after being absent from my life for the last 7 years. 2 of my bridesmaids had to drop out, and now my photographer had to back out. She has to get a hysterectomy 2 weeks before the wedding. I feel so sad for her and now I have to find a new photographer. My FH was a senior photo rep for her in high school, so we always get free pictures done. We didn't have a photography budget so now we have to come up with one with less than 4 months to go. 💔

I'm sorry you're going through this! I'll keep you and your photographer in my thoughts. Maybe the short time period could work to your advantage. You may be able to strike a deal with a photographer who may have had the date go unhooked otherwise.

Did you sign a contract with your photographer? I know in my contract it states that if she cannot make it for some reason then she is in charge of finding another photographer for me at no cost.

I’m so sorry your going through this. Maybe she can recommend someone to you. Ask your venue or caterer they may know people who are looking to fill the day and give you a deal. Good luck.

I'm sorry so much is happening. If things are really tight, you could knight the entire wedding party as photographers for your wedding for random action shots and have a professional photographer for the ceremony and family shots. That may cut things down tremendously.

I am having problems too. We were all excited to get married in the 25th of May and then my fiance' ends up having a seizure at work and gets fired. Then I lose my job due to cutbacks and now we don't have the money to even get our marriage license. This is such a let down. Now I have to inform all of my guests that there will not be a wedding until things pick back up and we have to cancel all that we have planned. Total heartbreak!!!!

I am sorry that you are going through all of this. I hope that you are able to find someone. The vender section on wedding wire can be a great resource.

No we did not, due to it not being a big fancy wedding. Our wedding was only going to consist of about 30 or so guests and we were going to cook the food ourselves and have our friends and family take the pictures. And the cake was going to be made by a family member as well. So we didn't bother getting any type of wedding insurance. I just hope things get better soon.

They will. It's illegal to fire someone for having a seizure! You may want to consider having a consultation with a civil rights lawyer. Each state has free legal services for people with low income. I'm a person with a disability too, so I know how difficult and overwhelming this can be.

Do you have any friends that would be able/willing to do the photography for you? Or perhaps get with your local newspaper and see who does their photography and if they do side work. They might have a more affordable pricing point than a typical wedding photographer. Best of luck and hope things start improving for you.
