Head table vs. Sweetheart tables?

I'm torn, so just soliciting opinions before I get much farther. I have time yet, but FH and I are trying the consider the benefits of both a couple of head tables (at which our entire party will not fit (MOH, 5 bridesmaids, junior bridesmaid, Best Woman, 5 groomsmen, plus us!) and sweetheart...

I like the head tables because of the tradition. That's about it. But we won't fit at two 10 foot tables (and that's what we have) set up across the front of the hall. And that's all there's room for.

I like the sweetheart tables because the wedding party will be with their loved ones and have fun that way. Not that any of their spouses or plus ones will be lonely as our families and friends are terrific and there is literally no tension at our wedding. (Yes, I know I'm blessed!).

It sounds like I just talked myself into sweetheart tables, doesn't it? I'd still like opinions.

I was always team king's table but after reading this, it seems like a sweetheart table makes a lot more sense for us! LOL @Celia the last supper comment had me dying

I like sweetheart tables so your bridal party can sit with their dates/SO

My best friend had the same issue (4 attendants on each side and not enough room for a full head table to accommodate 10).

What she did instead was have the maid of honor and best man at the head table with them, and their dates. (So there was six).

I was in this wedding and actually really appreciated being able to sit with my date (who now is my FH!), and wasn't at all disappointed by not being at the "head table". There were two other tables that were mostly made up of bridal party members and their dates which worked just fine.

    Hope that idea helps!

FH and I don't want to be center of attention as we eat, and FH really wanted a head table. I explained to him how it is unfair to our bridal party that they're not able to sit with their SO, he totally got it; we are going to have a King's Table.

I was debating the same but we decided a sweat heart table and 2 round tables that will be decorated different and serve as the head tables for the wp not all of them have so or dates so they'll be able to sit together

We're not doing either - we'll be sitting at Table 1, centrally located in the room, with siblings and their SOs with us. The BP and their SOs will be at the next table over.

We are doing sweetheart as well. We have a large party and would have trouble fitting everyone let alone their significant others. Fiance and i had to sit separately at his brother's wedding and I was pissed! I'm also excited for a tiny bit of one on one time, if I can actually get him to sit down and eat lol.

I'd like a sweetheart table but my FH wants a wedding party table. And given our reception space, the wedding party is the most optimal so we are going with that.

We were going to do a head table with us, our bp and their SO's...but ended up being a few too many people for the already gigantic table. So instead putting bp and their dates with friend groups and seating both our immediate families at head table with us.

Honestly looking back-a sweetheart table is MUCH easier!! And cheaper to decorate- for example...my head table decor is about $400 and my round table decor is only about $70

I wanted a sweatheart table but my fiancé wants a regular head table. He doesn't take a strong opinion on everything wedding related so I try to give him stuff when it matters to him. So alas, we are doing a traditional head table.

We are doing a traditional head table as well. Never been to a wedding as a guest or bridesmaid when there was not a head table.

I'm the UO here... I love the head table. I'm want to have my sister by my side. Every wedding we've been to in the past few years has had a head table. Sweetheart tables haven't caught on here. I mentioned the idea to FH and we talked about it, but decided on a head table. We have the room to accommodate it though!
