Hi everyone! We have our honeymoon booked for the last week of July, (July 26th - August) right after our wedding. I have been monitoring the news closely, and am waiting to hear what the governor says as far as reopening their state for travel goes. Right now they have the mandatory 14 day quarantine in effect until the end of this month. So I’m hoping news is released soon. We are staying on Oahu, and I haven’t booked anything as far as activities go because I have no idea how things will play out. What are some things you have booked that you would recommend?

I didn’t really expect anyone to take us up on our offer to come when we go to Hawaii for our honeymoon and now elopement. My fiancée whole family is pumped and wants to go. I feel like it’s becoming a mini destination wedding now! I didn’t really expect any guests lol.

Am I irresponsible for doing this? We definitely are not forcing anyone. It was like “anyone is welcome!” I don’t want anyone to get sick :-(

That's almost exactly when my fiance and I are going on our honeymoon! Mid-late July for 2 weeks. We've already postponed the wedding but are really hoping that we won't have to cancel the honeymoon, too. We are watching the news as well, and as of right now wouldn't be able to get refunds on any of our accommodations since airbnb is only offering refunds right now for stays booked through June 15th. We'll see if that changes in the next month or so if they extend. It's hard to keep waiting and watching, but that's really the only option right now!

I hope Airbnb makes a change! Hawaii just extended their mandatory quarantine through end of June. We got too tired of the wait and see feelings, we postponed the honeymoon to September. We’re using weddings if Hawaii! They’ve been great so far.

Yes! Most airbnb and hotels are having regular cancellation rules, which makes it hard for us. I just hope we can travel without quarantine by July. Let’s be honest, staying in room for 14 days in Hawaii is throwing money out of the window.

I’m really hoping everything is opened up by July. I feel like the honeymoon and having your SO to yourself for a vacation afterwards is one of the most exciting things about getting married!

Not at all! I think you’ll be fine especially with how Hawaii has been handling everything in order to keep the virus out. You may want to plan to have everyone arrive a bit early though - I’m not sure how things will be in July but i believe right now if you go to Hawaii you either need to stay in your hotel room for 2 weeks or take/present a test with a negative result. So if everyone gets tested and is negative then your risks of people getting sick are significantly reduced! Smiley winking

Hi Sabrina! Unfortunately the 14-day quarantine was extended until the end of June. And, Governor is considering lifting the inter-island travel first and the inbound flights at a later date (potentially July or so).
