Having some regrets about my dress

Let me start by saying that I absolutely love my dress. When I put it on I am mediately cried and every month that I’ve tried it on I still tear up. However, I still have pictures of other dresses that I tried on before I picked my dress, and there is one dress that was EXACTLY what I wanted. The problem is it did not flatter my body type at all. For context I am 5’3” 175 pounds and wear a size DDD bra. It had absolutely no support in the chest area but everything else was exactly what I was wanting. They told me that I could have the top of the dress reconstructed however I do not have the money for that. I literally looked like I was getting a mammogram when I had it on.
Part of me wishes I would’ve just toughed it out and fell behind on bills to have the dress reconstructed, but I know that is just not in the cards for me. I guess I’m just needing some confidence in my dress. I feel so beautiful when I wear it and it fits my body perfectly. Has anyone else felt like this? I’ll attach pictures of the dress I bought. The dress you bought is beautiful and SO GORGEOUS on you!
I don't think you should regret a thing! I will tell you right now that major alterations like that often don't work out the way you expect, and so you might have ended up paying all that money, but haaaating the way your bust looked in the dress on the day.
For example, I was told I could easily add sleeves to my dress but when they were added, they just wouldn't stay up, the straps they were attached to just kept sliding off my shoulders and so the sleeves looked terrible. My alterations bill wasn't itemised so I don't actually know what I paid for, but I think it's reasonable for me to have had to pay to have the sleeves made and added, and then pay for their removal because the work was done. But - what a waste of money!
you want to look and feel supported, secure, and beautiful on your wedding day. I think you made the right choice picking the dress that could offer that, without needing a bunch of expensive alterations which might not even work!

Thank you so much! That was my main concern was that it would completely change the way the bodice looked and that was the deciding factor for me to go with a different dress. I’m so sorry about your dress!

Thank you! It actually worked out really well, because I'd requested the sleeves be added because our original wedding date was supposed to be early spring and I was afraid I'd get cold. But, we postponed due to covid and so our wedding was late Feb this year, which is right at the end of the Aussie summer, and honestly the sleeves would have been too hot anyway!
I definitely think you made the right choice - I also have a larger bust and I don't really think any alterations without them basically remaking the dress (which would cost a fortune) would have given you the support you needed - and maybe not even then!

You look beautiful!! I love your dress. I understand the worries though. I am constantly second guessing if I picked the right one regardless of how much I enjoy it when I put it on

Oh my gosh, you are STUNNING in this dress!! Wow, so beautiful!! I completely understand your concerns, but from the pictures, it does not look as though you need to have it reconstructed. We all go back and forth over the dress - I am looking now - but when you find it, you know. You have to do what you are comfortable with, but damn girl, that dress is very flattering and you look amazing in it!!

You look really beautiful! I love Your dress and it compliments your frame so nicely. That being said,I’m having a similar predicament as far as loving the dress I purchased but 2nd guessing between 1 other one that was originally exactly what I wanted. I say, go with your gut and maybe 1 other persons gut. Someone that you know, knows you and what makes you happy.

Your dress is gorgeous!! Speaking from one DDD cup girl to another, if you knew that other dress wasn't going to work for you without drastic alterations, then you made the right choice. Alterations add up quickly. This one, however, works perfect for you! You shouldn't regret it one bit, and you said you get all the feelings you should get when you put it on. It's like being with a friend you never knew was missing from your life. I think it might be most beneficial for you at this point to delete those pictures of those other dresses. If you keep looking at them, you're only going to make yourself crazy, and you'll lose more enthusiasm for your special day.

Just in case there are bra pads the sticky bra and there's also tape out there if all fails go to Victoria's secret

Besides from what I can see your dress is amazing and you look beautiful in it don't give up on your dress by the small things to make you more comfortable in it I shopped Amazon and Victoria's secret

The dress pictured is the dress I ended up buying. It needed 0 alterations to fit and that’s what ultimately pushed my decision towards this one. I still love it, I didn’t post the other dress bc it was really just unflattering lol. But thank you so much! ❤️

I literally just posted about this issue. The dress shapes I wanted looked horrible on me. I carry any and all extra weight right in my tummy. So I ended up picking a dress that looked good on me even though it wasn’t exactly what I thought I wanted. But in the end I love my dress and you have to feel beautiful in it. I think the dress you did buy is gorgeous and totally flatters your figure .

I think the dress you chose is gorgeous! I think it’s also completely normal going into dress shopping with an idea of our dress and what it will look like but once trying it on realizing that it doesn’t look how we wanted. I had quite a few of those “This looked so much better in theory!” moments! This dress looks like it was made for you!
