Having lingerie made from my wedding dress scrapes

Ashley, on February 10, 2017 at 11:50 AM Posted in Community Conversations 5 13

Hi!

Does anyone have any idea of a website, place, or contact that would be able to make a lingerie set out of the scrapes from my wedding dress alteration?? I keep finding either useless sites with no information or only one site that is no longer in use which was something old, new, redo. I am coming up on my first anniversary and I thought it would be such a cute idea to have lingerie for our one year anniversary made from my dress. Please help.

That would be a very cool way to use your dress. I don't have any ideas though lol

Maybe you could find an etsy shop that makes lingerie and talk to them about making something custom from your dress?

Not to be the downer, but I feel like this is one of those "cute" ideas that the logistics on it just make it impossible. I feel like this will be expensive. Also, gown material is not really the same as lingerie...

Also people who make custom lingerie are not super common in the first place. Good luck. If this doesn't work out, I say just get a cute white set somewhere.

Thanks for the ideas. I have messaged someone on Etsy and also found a place in NY that personally makes bridal lingerie, so I have contacted them to see if they would be willing to use my dress scraps instead of some of their own material. I'll let you know the responses I get.

    Try https://impishlee.com/custom-bridal-lingerie/

I haven't used them so I can't speak to quality but it might be right up your alley

I've been looking for the same thing. It's so difficult finding places that do that! Please let me know if you find someone willing to do it for you!

I have no idea who could but one time i participated in a breast cancer walk and we customized bras so you can always go buy a base and then use your fabric from the dress and attach it with e600 clue and go to micheal’s and find some beads or something to add to it. E600 will make it last and it would cost as much and you would customize it! Im not sure if that helps!
