Anyone else having an afternoon wedding? We decided to have a 12-5pm reception because we are saving $1700 to have it during the day instead of at night. The menu for both day/night wedding is the same. Just don't feel it's worth it to pay the extra if we aren't going to get anything extra or...

We decided to have a 12-5pm reception because we are saving $1700 to have it during the day instead of at night. The menu for both day/night wedding is the same. Just don't feel it's worth it to pay the extra if we aren't going to get anything extra or different.

I do feel some people will complain but whatever we are paying for it and if they love us then they will make it there.

@OP Yes, the minimum for daytime on a Saturday is 4K. The minimum for nighttime was 10K! The decision was pretty easy for us to make! We have a smaller size guest list also (~50) but more than half of them are coming from out of town (flying in from TX, Sacramento or driving in from San Diego) so they can use the extra time to hang out and enjoy the city before going back home (we're getting married in Long Beach, CA).

We are having a late afternoon wedding, like starting at 3pm. Good for you for saving money! I'm all about it.

Mine is afternoon-ish. Sunday from 3P - 9P. Being 56 years old, I usually fall asleep at 9:30 anyway - LOL!

My wedding/reception is from 12-5 and I haven't had anyone complain. I would hope no one has a problem with me feeding and giving them open bar for free. Haha
