Have no friends to be in your bridal party? Why not hire someone! HAHAHA!!!

AlexisM082, on June 21, 2015 at 7:19 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 25

FB bridal pages kill me sometimes. There's a lady in there saying that hiring an assistant to be a bridesmaid is very common. Hiring a DOC... I get that, but really... If you can't pick someone to be a bridesmaid, don't hire a total stranger. "They can entertain guests, even act as witnesses, bridesmaid or groomsman in the event." http://www.thebestmaid.com/faq.html

I like that it says you don't have to feed them - they're instructed to bring their own meal.

I've never , ever heard of this insanity! How would brides answer those, "so, how long have you and your BM been friends?" Type questions? Haha. Nothing surprises me anymore. Lol

I told her I'd rather not have a wedding party than have everyone talk about how I had to hire a bridesmaid lol. I've never seen the Wedding Ringer, but now I totally want to look

Oh, come on. "My business provides..." should be followed by something valuable -- not a ridiculous idea that sells a woman on paying for a bridesmaid (it IS weird and it ISN'T quite popular). Since when did being a bride require a personal assistant or a mini-planner? There are already qualified wedding planners to do that work. You don't need to go to central casting for a bridesmaid. It's another terrible idea that should die a quick death. You've got amateur wedding planners running around with exactly one wedding under their belt (their own), honeyfund internet business owners who couldn't care less about etiquette or what a bride's guest might think of her decision to solicit funds to supply an exotic vacation for the couple, and now we have bridesmaids for hire. Gross. What's next? Stage moms hiring out their kids to serve as flower girls and ring bearers? Go away, bridesmaids for hire lady...ick.

@centerpiece Hahaha! I honestly think this chick created a fake FB page just so she can run around on all of the wedding pages. Any time you ask for details about her, she disappears. I straight put told her I just didn't like her. She's never had one helpful comment or post.

I don't know what's more annoying, her idea of selling this, or how she posts on facebook with 12 comments in a row.

This is really funny because you dont need BMs... but some SOs really want there own GM or BMs so having an uneven wedding party is one thing but having all for one party and not the other is completely different. i still dont understand the whole BMs should just buy a dress and stand next you thing... thats dumb. If thats the case instead of asking my real friends and family I should go hire models that way they would look killer in the dresses and make for good pictures.

    Weird.

I guess we should bookmark this to link for whenever new brides b*tch about their BMs not helping them plan, be super excited, throw parties (showers/bach parties), be their personal assistant, etc.
