Hashtag or no Hashtag?

Tracy, on July 3, 2019 at 1:28 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 8
What is the purpose of a Hashtag for the wedding? Just curious. I am not sure if I want to get on that band wagon or just leave it alone. Thought?

From what i understand, it makes it easier to find your photos via social media like Instagram if people are posting photos from your wedding

It’s used to share photos on social media. If you use social media, it doesn’t hurt to have one. Even if no one uses it, you’re not out anything.

My opinion is most of our guests are not social media users so there’s no point for us. We’d have like one of two friends post maybe - and that to me is not enough to warrant the use.

Agreed wholeheartedly - worst case is you come up with a hashtag you like and no one posts any pictures using it. I've already used ours anytime I Instagram a wedding related photo, and although I don't expect to have tons of friends use it, it'll be nice to have a quick way to look through (at least some of) what people post.

    It’s mostly for social media.

We won’t be having a hashtag and will be asking guests not to post photos until we have gotten to. Nobody other than those invited know the date and/or location of my wedding and I do not want that info leaked because there are people I do not want showing up that may if they knew.

    Social media purposes.
My fiance is addicted to Twitter, I'm addicted to Instagram, as of right now, we are skipping the hashtags. Most of our guests are older and use Facebook, and I dont really appreciate hashtag usage on Facebook. Plus, it's too easy for creepers to find. And hashtags feel like I'm trying to be a corporation or something.
    Just my personal opinions.

I have a hashtag but only doing it for fun. Not b/c we are on Twitter or Instagram. But b/c of his last name and it was a fun thing to come up with. So we have one on our favors.
