Hashtag help and tiny vent

Lizbeth, on June 3, 2019 at 8:20 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 10

Hello beautiful people!
As I've said in countless comments and discussions, we are planning a small guest list (less than 20 people, families and teens included) it will be a courthouse ceremony, with only immediate family and a small get together at my sister's house, with everyone else (which is why we are having a BYOB type party, last time there was a party there, they left her house all messed up because they got so drunk and they wouldn't leave even after 3 am! But I digress....).

I've been thinking about a hashtag so that we could collect everyone's pictures but... It's such a tiny number of people, I feel like it wouldn't be necessary?
What do ya'll think?
I feel like for this amount of people coming (or not) I wouldn't mind just going around people asking for their pictures, just like with Rsvp, I don't find it necessary to send rsvp cards because... So small of a number.
Thoughts? Opinions? Experiences?
Thank you all!

Everyone I know who has used a hashtag has wound up with maybe 10-20 pictures at the most from their guests and those weddings all had 150-200 guests. I don’t think it’s worth it for 20 guests.

If you're leaning more towards having a hashtag, I don't see any issue! You can have a hashtag with a small wedding!

Thank you! But honestly is it worth it going all out and thinking about how it would sound and all that, you know? But I might just do it for fun lol even if people don't use it.

I think if you're excited about having a hashtag, do it! The last wedding I went to got a ton of pictures tagged with their hashtag - we knew the bride was excited about it and they had put it in the invitations, save the dates, website, and on a welcome sign at the venue, so it got a lot of use. Even if you pick something simple like your names and the date, it makes looking for pictures easier.

I have a wedding website and one of the features is it allows guests later on to upload their own photos. Or you could use another type of Dropbox where people could upload as an alternative should you want
