Has your bridal party complained about how early to be ready?

We will be having a first look prior to our ceremony. The first look will be at the hotel lobby than we will head over to a nice garden to take photos and than go to our venue... a few bridesmaids have complained or made comments about this.. I just wanted to know if anyone else has come across this...

I’ve only been in one wedding before. I was the MOH to my MOH. We were both very young at the time 22-ish & funds were limited. I left work early the day before the wedding, got my nails & hair highlighted. The wedding was on a Friday - took off the entire day. Went and got my hair done early, and then her mom picked me up @ like 11 am & I helped the bride get ready (her ceremony was like 6 pm). I never once complained or even thought of complaining. IMO it comes with the territory of being in the wedding - especially the MOH role.

I can only assume those BM have never been in weddings before? One bridesmaid made a joking comment but it was 1 time and she was actually joking. We had to be in the lobby at 9:15 AM to head to our venue for the wedding at 5 PM.

The sad part is they have all been bridesmaids most of them I was in their wedding! Well Atleast she was actually joking, that is nice that she wasn’t rude to you about I️t. If you do not mind me asking, were you in the lobby ready at 9:15 or you were going to get ready? Please walk me through your day of timeline if possible lol

9:15 AM ready to go to the venue with clean hair/face in getting ready outfits. I paid for transportation for everyone and breakfast & lunch & chair masseuses. We got to the venue at 9:50 AM and the first 4 girls started in HAMU at 10:00 AM. I had 9 bridesmaids, 3 moms, 1 flower girl, and me getting HAMU (22 services - some opted to do their own). We didn't do a first look, but we were ready by 3:30 PM for our getting ready pictures and the ceremony was scheduled for 5:00 PM.

I hate getting up in the morning and am pretty miserable until almost lunch time. However I would never, and have never, complained about getting up early to get ready with a bride. I will warn them about my crankiness, but they all already know all about that! If you’re being reasonable and aren’t asking them to be there hours before anything starts happening, I would just ignore the complaints.

So FSIL's timeline for her wedding. I was just a guest, but fiance was a groomsmen so I got a copy of the email. Everyone was told when to be where for the entire weekend. No exceptions or questions if that was ok... There was an entire timeline for Friday's rehearsal dinner also.

As a bridesmaid, I get to where I'm told at the time I'm told, no complaining. I had to be at the venue at a friend's wedding back in November at 7am, or maybe 6:30, I can't remember exactly. I also didn't go to bed until late the night before, and I didn't complain at all nor did I think it was ridiculous.

I'm surprised to hear they have all been bridesmaids before and are complaining about having to arrive at 11AM. My bridesmaids had to be at the bridal suite at 7AM on my wedding day to start hair and make-up. It wasn't their first rodeo, so not a single complaint. I was more surprised about the early start than they were, since I've never been in a bridal party before my own wedding.

We've started before 9 a.m. for every wedding I've been in. Never thought anything of it- it's all good! Sucks that they are making comments. It's not unreasonable.

8 am isn't bad... I had to be up at practically the crack of dawn like 6-630am for my friend's wedding and lets just say I wasn't happy. I might've complained to other people but not the bride. It is what it is. If the ones complaining, can't wake up and be ready for 11-1130 I feel sorry for them. Depending how far they have to drive I could be up at 8:30 and ready and I take a long time perfecting special occasion makeup for myself. That's not early.
