I'm not a modest person but I am a severely self conscious person so the thought of needing someone in the bathroom with me gives me anxiety. My sisters are my MOHs but I'm embarrassed about my weight; even after losing 30 pounds. I wanted to buy the Bridal Buddy (see pictures below) and was curious...

I wanted to buy the Bridal Buddy (see pictures below) and was curious if anyone has tried it or plans to use it too?

I honestly hadnt thought much about it. We could always sit backwards. Lol I heard that's a thing and then have someone there to help hold the train lol

Ive read about using the blue Ikea shopping bag. Cut a slit in the bottom of the bag big enough to pull over your hips, step in , pull up, stuff your dress inside the bag then put the bag handles on your shoulders

If you have a ballgown the easiest thing to do is just sit on the toilet facing the wall so you can gather it all up and hold it up. When I did wedding photography all the brides with big dresses did this and had no incidents.

I ordered two. The first one was too big around my waist.

Bridal Buddy is meant to protect your gown from the toilet, or the dirty floor, and help you go into the bathroom alone without a bunch of girls staring at you while you pee. or poop. or change your tampon. Or smell like sweat from dancing. Personally, I'd rather not have a giant roll of black contractor bags at my elegant wedding ready to add to the plastic waste problem we already have on this earth.

I'm not sure how the Bridal Buddy is any different than a black trash bag when you really break it down. My understanding was that you don't wear the Bridal Buddy all day, you put it on when you have to go. I personally wouldn't have wanted another layer (of plastic) under my dress all day. A black trash bag with a hole in the bottom that is put around your waist is a cheaper option, but both add to the plastic waste problem. If anything a black trash bag is better because it isn't shipped to your house individually with it's own shipping materials being used.

2 years later and your comment is what I've been scouring the internet for. That video settled what I will be using. Thank you so much
