Has anyone purchased a Shutterfly 8x8 guestbook?

MrsBest2B, on October 25, 2015 at 10:47 AM Posted in Community Conversations 0 16

I've created mine using our engagement pictures because I had a free coupon from JoAnne fabrics. Has anyone done one and is the 8x8 large enough? I feel like if someone has big handwriting like I do it might be too small. FH's words were "What's a guestbook?" Lol, so he's no help.

We got a shutterfly guestbook too, but went with the 8x11 hardback.

I got the 8x8 guestbook for our wedding. It was fun to customize the pages.

I have an 8x8 Shutterfly book I got for free. It's really small and I'd suggest getting an 11x14 for sure.

We got the 11x14 hardcover. We were worried the 8x8 would be too small too....

I was thinking of getting one too. I might just do pics and not guestbook.

We did 8x11. With 109 guests and several blank pages, it worked well.

We did an 8x8 from shutterfly for our guestbook. The size worked well for us. We did upgrade to layflat pages. However I did have some trouble because it was printed wrong. They eventually reprinted it but customer service was very rude.

I have one that I used for another event and loved it. I ordered one for my guest book and kept the 8x8 size but just added a few extra pages to be sure there was enough room for signing.

We did the 8x8 with the amount of pages it comes with. It was just fine for 150 guests - a lot of people didn't sign it, though. Some people wrote long messages (like yearbook-style!) and other just signed a quick note.

I just ordered a 12x12 with 20 layflat pages with our engagement photos for our guestbook because shutterfly had a 40% off promo going on. I can't wait to see it!

Good question! I have been debating between 8x8 and 10x10 (from my photographer). I want to go with 8x8 because it is cheaper. Keep in mind that couples usually only write one note in the guest book, not 2. With 100 guests I'm guessing we will have 50 signatures or messages. Keep in mind that if you don't get lay flat pages there's a little less space to sign because the spine of the book will be pretty tight.

We did 8x11 and with 60 guests there was a lot of left over space. Pages with nothing, ect.

I got an 8x8 for our guest book and I think it was plenty big. I do recommend getting the lay-flat feature though. I didn't and I think it's probably worth it.

ETA: I guess what I mean is there was enough room for everybody to write something.

I ordered an 8x8 and think that it will be big enough. Just make sure to leave lots of room for people to write on not just all photos.

Thanks so much for all your feedback! Ok, so I upgraded to an 8 x 11 and added two more pages for signing (9 signing pages total) and added a pocket in the front. Now my "free" guestbook is about $24.00 after shipping lol. The coupon is good til Nov. 8th, so I may obsess/think about it a little more. My mother just said guestbooks are for funerals! Ugh, no Mom people use them at weddings too....but is it worth purchasing? With the photos, personalization and special touches (like using FH's last name to really play on "Best" wishes) it's really pretty cute and I'm happy with how it came out so I may just do it. I think 11x14 would be too much for us, but 8x11 seems about right. Did anyone get the matte cover? I prefer a matte look, but I'm not sure it's worth the extra $5 (since I already added the pocket and two extra pages). My free book is getting more and more pricey.
