Has anyone tried their hand at diy wedding invitations? how did they turn out? were they elegant? what was the style you were going for and did they turn out like you had expected? i have a few templates that I made on my computer and showed a few of my family members... all of which are verrry critical people. they all loved what i had come up with which was verry surprising to me. my fh and i went out to the local staples and picked out very nice cardstock, professional ivory envelopes, as well as smaller return cards and return envelopes AND very nice foil envelope seals. what are your thoughts?! has anyone dode this and how did they turn out? any pics?

We make invitation kits from handmade paper, eco papers and really good Italian papers - with letterpress printed elements. These are for a really upscale look - if you want the really boutique invites but don't want to spend $10 each: http://www.invitesite.com/weddings/All-wedding-invitations.php

Some of the sale designs start at $1 each.

I got all my paper at Hobby Lobby and only when it's 50% off. Worked out to just over $1 per invite. =)

I did mine on VistaPrint and had a 50% off, so I spent about $75 for everything, including the RSVP cards, thank you cards, and seals (and added a security feature on the inside of the envelope). This way, we could keep the theme running (even our VP signs have the same theme). It was just more worth it to me to spend some money and have it all ready to go.

I used card stock and ribbon for both invitation and rsvp card. i can send you the template via email if you'd like and you can just change the wording as you would like it to read. Smiley winking

I did mine also. I designed the invite myself and used cards and pockets for the paper and pockets! Good luck..it's doable!
